I'm trying to install Windows XP on a Sony VAIO VGN-FZ240E laptop so I can play some old PC games, but I cannot proceed because I am missing SATA drivers. Sadly, it appears Sony is no longer hosting any drivers for this computer:
I found a driver supposedly compatible with this model of laptop named Intel(R) 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller on a website called "driverscape" but in general it is not safe to trust drivers from third party sites like this, so I'm hesitant to attempt to use it.
I believe the problem is that I don't have a USB driver setup properly. As far as I know, it should work with the "Google USB Driver", which I have installed, but nevertheless, I get the yellow triangle next to "Smartwatch 3" in device manager.
Thanks, I'll give this a try tonight. With the Sony RAW driver installed, I'm able to view .arw files in Windows Explorer. But I cannot in my file manager of choice XYplorer. It just says "Cannot decode". I believe this is because they only have a 32bit version of XYplorer. I have custom scripts assigned to buttons in XYplorer, which are part of my photography workflow. But if I can't see the raw images, I might have to find another window manager.
So I bought this pair like 1.5 years ago and in Windows 10 they appeared as two separate devices: Headphones and Headset and you could switch between the two. Headphones had MUCH better audio but i could only use that when the microphone was not used by any app. When I entered a discord voice room or a google meet, I had to manually switch to the Headset output which massively downgraded the audio but they were still usable. Now since I switched to Win 11, the headphones appear as a single output device and that is Headphones(LE_WH-1000XM3) but i think the windows is trying to switch between the two previous modes automatically or something because i still notice the audio quality difference between listening to a song, and a discord call. The problem is that it does a shitty job at switching it automatically and i have to quit and rejoin every single call/meet i have to participate in until the software finally "guesses" the right setting. How can i solve this? It has been very annoying lately and i cant afford my headphones starting to act out 5 minutes before an online exam or something like that

To fix your Drivers problems you will need to know the particular model of the Sony device you are having problems with. Once you have the details you can search the Sony website for your drivers and, if available, download and install these drivers.
If you are unsure of whether or not you need to update your Drivers, or indeed which Drivers may need to be updated, you can run a Drivers scan using a driver update tool (you will need to pay to register this tool but usually the Drivers scan is free). This will allow you to assess your Driver needs without any commitment. Alternatively, you can use the device manager to check if there are problems with any of your hardware devices.
Please install driver software by following methods. Administrator privilege is needed to complete installation. When you want to update the driver software, Please uninstall the old version driver software before installing a new driver software. Please refer to Uninstall Procedure of Driver software for PC terminal.
Depending on the computer, installation may take time. If driver installation takes too much time, the auto power off (Auto Standby) function of the speaker will cause it to turn off automatically. If this happens, turn on the speaker again.
Want to use netMD with a modern PC? Well, you should use Web MiniDisc or Platinum MiniDisc. They are both much easier to install and use, and let you use many more audio formats, including FLAC. You also do not have to mess with unsigned drivers that often get reset every time there is a Windows update. Every portable device, and almost every deck is now supported. There are only a few devices which aren't supported by WMD/PMD.
The issue with trying to use SonicStage on Windows 10 is getting your netMD device to communicate with a modern OS. The drivers provided with installation CDs typically do not work with Windows 10 64bit. Luckily someone has made 64bit drivers for netMD devices. Unfortunately, they are unsigned making installation quite the hassle.
If you could not find the exact driver for your hardware device or you aren't sure which driver is right one, we have a program that will detect your hardware specifications and identify the correct driver for your needs. Please click here to download.
