to Central Illinois Birding
Hi everyone!
Sorry to post this so late. Over the past week, in addition to the
typical Canada Geese there have been 3-4 Common Goldeneyes, 7 Lesser
Scaups, 4 Canvasbacks, and about 25 Mallards at El Paso Sewage
Treatment Center in Woodford County. When I last checked yesterday
afternoon, only the Canvasbacks (3 female, 1 male) and Mallards were
present.
Yesterday, I checked White Pines Cove at Evergreen Lake in McLean
County and saw 3 American Black Ducks and 3 Gadwall amongst about 43
Mallards. Also present were 5 Ring-necked Ducks and a male Common
Merganser. The lake was freezing again, however, and I heard that the
ducks were not there today.
