Saturday May 13th IOS Jubilee Farm bird walk sign-up information

Greetings Central Illinois Birders,

We are hosting a bird walk, through the Illinois Ornithological Society, to commemorate Illinois Bird Day on Saturday May 13th. This event is free to the public. 

Start time: 7:30 AM

Please bring binoculars. Also, there will be bird banding, at the site, conducted by professor Tony Rothering and members of the Lincoln Land Association of Bird Banders. Participants of the walk are encouraged to attend.

Bird list totals will count towards Illinois Audubon Society's local chapters participating in the Big Day competition. 

The habitat is a wonderful mix of woodlands, tree covered streams, and open grasslands. Blue Grosbeak, variety of warblers and vieros, American Bittern, and several spring arrival flycatchers and swallows have been reported recently. Near by pastures are ideal for blackbirds and Bobolink so please consider joining us for a bird-filled adventure.
