Welcome to the Dickcissel Dial the Central Illinois Birding Hotline sponsored by Wild Birds Unlimited in Springfield. Today is Friday, May 13th, 2022.

Several reports of Ibis continuing through the central Illinois region. Chuck-Will's widow has been heard. Smith's longspur, lark, clay-colored, and Harris's sparrow.

Hybrid warblers with Lawrence's and Brewster's. Black-throated blue, worm-eating, and prairie are the notable warblers this week. Flycatchers include Olive-sided and Least.

Yellow-crowned night heron in Madison county. Eared grebe in Carroll county. Black-billed cuckoo in Winnebago County. Little Gull at Lake Springfield and Bufflehead in Lake Petersburg. Whooping crane in Lee county.

Ariana and Rhetta won the trivia by answering "Robin". This week's trivia question: which warbler species has the longest migration flight?

Remember the red-eyed vireo says "you see it-you know it-do you hear me?-do you believe it?" They sing from morning until evening from April to July. Please leave all sightings and answers and enjoy the outdoors!
