Hi folks,

St. John’s is proposing to host the 2027 CRSS. It will be co-hosted by C-CORE and Memorial University – Weimin Huang and I are developing a proposal to the Canadian Remote Sensing Society for submission this month. Masoud Mahdianpari has offered to be the Technical Chair and Weimin and I will chair the organizing committee. The time frame will be either the week of June 7 or June 14, 2027. While this is far into the future, I am seeking volunteers now to help with the local organizing committee. The conference will be three days long. It is a fun endeavour, but for those who have been involved with Geomatics Atlantic, you know that it will involve a good bit of volunteer time.

We will need individuals who can help with promotion/social media, trade show advertising and social events. There is also an opportunity to serve on the technical committee, which will be Canada wide. If you have experience in any of these areas, or would like to serve in any capacity, please email me and I’ll add you to the committee email distribution. You don’t have to be a member of CIG or the CRSS if you want to volunteer.

Best Regards,

Des
