It has taken me ages to get this email out, but here it is. CIG-NL has been quite silent of late, mostly because of the commitments of our current executive. That has to change because we should be promoting our industry more effectively and we have the means to do this. As a consequence, I am proposing a change of leadership that we can all discuss at an AGM – I am calling it a General Meeting because it hasn’t been Annual since before the pandemic.
I will firm up a meeting location in the coming weeks, but I’d like to have some feedback on what works best. We could hold a lunchtime meeting (lunch provided by CIG-NL) or a meeting at around end of business – maybe between 4-6 pm. Please provide me with some feedback as to what works best – just reply directly to my email rather than responding to the entire group. I’d also like to get some sense of numbers. Everyone is welcome to the meeting – you do not need to be a CIG member to attend this. You just need to have an interest in Geomatics in the province. For those who live outside the city – I could provide the means to attend virtually if there’s enough interest. We could hold the meeting in a large meeting room rather than an ‘eating venue’.
Once I know numbers, I’ll firm up a venue.
And if you are interested in being a member of the CIG-NL Executive, please let me know as well. If you don’t have prior experience in a society, that doesn’t matter – just bring your enthusiasm.
Best Regards,
Des
