I used to be able to do that for years. However, the reports started to give me very short connection times so I did compare them to the logme in event viewer on the computers I connnected with and found out the connections times where totally different. In many cases I was connected to them for say over 2 h which was reported fine on the local computers but on the Central report it showed, say 26 seconds...
When I reported this to logmein Tech Support over the phone, they told me to send them the local logs of a few computers, screen caps of those local event viewers and matching central reports, wich I did. They told me it was a known bug and that they were working on it.
I tried to temporary use the local logmein event viewer for billing but any time the computer is reboot the event viewer gets cleared and you cannot load remote connections by time or anything so it isn't a feasible temporary solution...
@PracticalInfSys Apologies for the delay. This issue was resolved with the release of build 11548. Also make certain you are running the 'Remote Sessions' report (new), and not the 'Remote Access Sessions' report.
I configured her work pc according to the help article (removed personal passwords, granted easy access, checked connection is set to full access, connecting the computer to a teamviewer account) and then setup my computer to test the connection (also logging in with the teamviewer account, checking connection settings, etc) and the remote control still requests a confirmation on the work pc.
I use TeamViewer to help friends and family that are remotely located. I have setup remote access on all of the PCs. Lately two of the systems require the user to confirm the connection. How in the heck do I turn this off? Often I'm connecting to there system when they are either sleeping or away from the system thus I NEVER want to see the confirmation request on their system.
I just checked two other family systems and the confirmation is now requested on them as well thus it seems that all systems I connect to must confirm. this seems to indicate that the issue is on my PC
AH!!! I found a solution that worked for me. The problem was on MY pc and not the remote PC. As you suggested, changing the Advanced settings for connections to this computer to Full Access. It was set to Automatic, I have no idea why it was changed or if it had worked with that setting in the past.
Sounds like they went exploring in the settings. This will vairy a little depending on version and exactly where changes were made, but look at Access Control on the computer you are connecting to.
In the latest version of Teamviewer, if you double click a remote computer name the default connection method has changed to "prompt for confirmation". You need to use the second option on the right Remote Control using password instead of clicking the computer name.
When checking the advanced settings in your and your connection partners TeamViewer options, please keep in mind that you need to check Advanced settings for connection to other computers on the remote device and Advanced settings for connection to this computers on your device.
The confirmation request problem still appears regualrly with mine, however I find that if I simply reconnect it goes away. Sometimes I have to try connecting a couple of times but usually I connect in the end.
the settings are same as per screenshot. and i am using a free version i dont see any contact list in my system or in client system. then also why the client system is asking for conformation request (allow or deny) when I am connecting to client system.
I'm also having these issues past 2 days. Settings are both on full access and none on confirm all. I've also tried to right click the partner i'm connecting to, and click on remote using password instead of prompt for confirmation.
CONNECTING Computer: Extras/Options/Advanced, Access Control to full access under "Advanced settings for connections to this computer" AND under "Advanced settings for meetings".

NVidia chose to block their GeForce cards and make things complicated for Quadro, but finally they seem to have enabled it recently: NVIDIA provides OpenGL-accelerated Remote Desktop for GeForce - The Khronos Group Inc. Probably you just need to tune your remote desktop settings, maybe you need to adjust some Windows Remote Desktop group policy settings as described on some websites.
Yes, there may be some configurations where this technique still works. To try it, you can connect to the remote computer using vnc, teamviewer, or google remote desktop, start Slicer, and then connect using Windows Remote Desktop.
Thanks Andras. I can confirm everything works fine when connected via chrome remote desktop or teamviewer. Starting the Slicer session via team viewer first and then connecting via RDP works fine too. Is there a simple script to start the slicer session automatically before connecting via RDP? I was checking here =4252, but seems like the downloaded script is empty.
I am trying to use the Remote Desktop Viewer on my laptop to connect to my desktop, which I have configured with Remote Desktop preferences. But it fails to update the screen shot image, making it useless.
Sounds like you have compiz enabled on your desktop which is what's causing the lack of screen refresh. There's an option you can enable on the server side (in your case the desktop) - that is, the machine you wish to control, which will fix this.
You can try changing the client and the server for a better experience. As far as as client is concerned, the remmina client is a much better performer than vinagre and if you are use facing problems with vino then try tightvncserver. Both Are available via synaptic or USC.
I personally prefer Team viewer,it's a computer software package for remote control, desktop sharing, and file transfer between computers. The software operates with Microsoft Windows,Linux based OS & Mac OS X, and is able to function while the computers are protected by firewalls and NAT proxy....
Before establishing the remote desktop connection, you must know the ID and Password of the remote system which is running Team Viwer. After getting the ID and Password from your partner.Enter the ID and click connect to partner, with in few seconds it will show a window prompting for a password.Enter the password which you got from your partner and click ok.
Configuration Manager allows you to connect to client computers using Configuration Manager Remote Control. Before you begin to use remote control, ensure that you review the information in the following articles:
If the client setting Prompt user for Remote Control permission is set to True, the connection does not initiate until the user at the remote computer agrees to the remote control prompt. For more information, see Configuring remote control.
Users at the remote computer can view more information about the remote control session when they click the Configuration Manager Remote Control icon. The icon is in the Windows notification area or the icon on the remote control session bar.
The remote control viewer is supported on all operating systems that are supported for the Configuration Manager console. For more information, see Supported configurations for Configuration Manager consoles and Prerequisites for remote control.
For a successful connection, the Take Control viewer installed on the device providing assistance must match the Take Control engine enabled on the device requiring assistance. For example, if the device requiring assistance uses the Take Control (N-able) engine, the device providing assistance must use the Take Control (N-able) viewer.
When you provide support to a mixed environment of Take Control (TeamViewer) and Take Control (N-able) installations, you must have both Take Control Viewer versions installed on the device providing assistance.
