I posted this over on netsec as a tool to check the BIOS configuration to see if it's writable. It does that too, but it also dumps the raw contents of the BIOS flash chip. There are other tools out there that do this for older (e.g. So you can literally run this tool, throw the .bin file into IDA, and go to the end of the file - 0x10, hit C, and see the valid BIOS entry point.
