Howdy Day Camp Campers,

Here is your long awaited Day Camp Achievements

Attached you will find several spread sheets

The main one is DC2014 All ranks  , this has a tab for each rank and a summary of what they earned.

The others are the detail spread sheets for each rank in case you want to drill down and see all the details and or notes.

I did not have enough time to go through all the certificates for archery and BB guns , so I have scanned them and attached them here for you to print.   The scout store also has copies.  If you go to the bottom of this email there is some very helpful information from Lisa at the scout store on the awards especially the STEM on Leave No Trace.

The only Item missing is Aquanaut pin which I will get to ASAP.

I am camping this weekend and Debb is in Wisconsin visiting her new grand baby  so not all texts and emails may be answered promptly but I will have time Sunday.

I will make packets for all packs that will have your scouts individual forms  and medical forms ,  these packets will be ready and available at the Mt Rubidoux round table  August 7,2014 at the LDS Church on Jackson.(6:30 PM)   (where we did one of the shirt pickups)  I will also have my ever growing collection of lost and found items for you to claim.

Thanks for ALL of your help YOU made it a great camp

The Queen and I thank you.

Start Rounding them up for next Year!!!!!  Pack 97 is challenging all to contest to get 50% of each packs registered scouts to day camp , if we can get  queen Debb  now Mayor Debb to write some donation letters maybe we can have some prizes too.  So start the herding!

Hello,

I understand it can be confusing as to how to get awards.  Here’s some information you can share with everyone.  All the requirements and award applications can be located on www.scouting.org  By using the name of the award in the search box you can see all the places your award is listed.  Just make sure you choose the site that will be fromwww.scouting.org and the brief description mentions “requirements” or “how to earn/get”.  Applications are then linked to each requirement listing.  We at the store also have copies of the application forms.

That being said, with the new program changes being made to scouting they discontinued the Leave no Trace award last Spring and the stock ran out about October last year.  There is no stock available anywhere in the country.  It has been replaced by the Outdoor Ethics Awareness and Outdoor Ethics Award.  If your boys completed the LNT Award under the old requirements please go into www.scouting.org and find the requirements list.  Click on the link to do the Tread Lightly training, then click on the link for the application for the Awareness Award , fill out the applicant’s information, print it out and bring it to the Scout Shop for purchase of your emblem patch.  Many boys will enjoy the extra steps to get the Action Award which is a nameplate with the Outdoor Ethics logo on it.

The NOVA Stem program is a marvelous tool to help us reward our boys for things they are learning and doing.  There is no special application for the NOVA Award or it’s level Pi Pins, but it is recommended to be placed on your advancement forms under special awards if there is no specific listing in Internet advancement.  The first level they receive the NOVA emblem patch with the FDL embroidered in the top star point.  All other times they earn levels they receive a Pi symbol device/pin to place on another point of their star.  Levels can be repeated by repeating all the requirements and choosing another belt loop not previously done in the category listing.  The SuperNova Award must have the special application filled out and signed by council before it can be purchased.  For those boys that earned NOVA last year just back date the info and please come in or call in your order for shipment to you.  We are pleased to take any orders via fax at 909-307-3952 or E-mail at redlands...@scouting.org.

I hope this was the information you were looking for, if not or you have more questions, please call the Scout Shop at909-307-3950, and we will assist you in locating answers.

Thank you,
