Subject: 2025 DNA Scheme for apple, pear and cherry varieties - Announcement
Good morning,
Now in its 9th year of operation, we are delighted to be offering a DNA scheme for 2025 for apples, pears, and cherries. Analysis will be provided by the world-renowned research organisation Niab - East Malling Research. The price is £ 37.50 plus VAT per sample. The National Fruit Collection (NFC) will provide scientific overview.
If you wish to participate, please go to https://www.fruitid.com/#help where you can find the Announcement and Timetable, a Request Form to ask for sample bags, detailed collection guidance, results from previous years, and an Introduction to DNA Fingerprinting.
Please feel free to forward this message to anyone you think may be interested. If you have any questions, I will try to help.
Kind regards

Wonderful, thanks for sharing. I have a tree from Keepers Nursery
that is definitely not the variety they sold it as, but they
couldn't help me with its identification other than "it's a false
Harvey". Not much use for fruit selling. I've another set of trees
I grew from grafted scions, taken from a fallen standard tree in
the old farm orchard next door. It's a culinary variety, but
doesn't fall in line with our two most popular culinary varieties
here of Bramley or Kings Newton, so I'm intrigued as to what it is
- now signed up for some sample bags. We just call it Old
Merrybower at the moment, which isn't much use.
