Hello people :)

Im looking to buy a Fruit Shark (or alternative electric budget fruit
crusher/scratter). Ive emailed sa...@fruitshark.co.uk but ive had no
responce yet (maybe im a little to anxious to wait).

I was wondering if anyone is selling one or similar? I believe they're
£419 new?

Im from east yorkshire and im will to collect or pay delivery if its
too far.

Also unfortunately my budget cannot really stretch past £450-500 so im
unable to buy the new Speidel Mill from Vigo; and I dont have the time
to make one.

Thanks.
James

I would think in effect you are a bit overanxious - I am sure yo will
get an answer very soon (within a day or 2).

Don't want to rain on the parade but that is a grape crusher-destemmer.
If you use it for apples you will need to pass the pulp through about 3
times to get it anywhere near reduced in size enough for pressing, and
the apples may need a lot of help to get them through the rollers or
they just bounce around on top. I know because I had one similar once
which I bought at auction for 50 when a local winery was closing down.
Know what you are taking on!

I had spotted that but thanks anyways, I figured it was more suitable
for grapes (as andrew has also pointed out thanks).

Im going to hang on until tomorrow evening and hopefully I'll of
gotten a responce from the person who arranges the import of Fruit
Sharks :)

Thanks for the help guys, figured it couldnt hurt posting :)

Hello,

im still waiting patiently for a responce from the person responsible
for Fruit Shark (waiting a few more days i think at least seen as ive
been assured).

But ive also been hunting around for budget alternatives.

Does anyone have any experience with this one, its £399.95 inc free
next day delivery.
http://www.wineworks.co.uk/product/large-motorised-crusher/

or (not that my budget can stretch yet) would I be better paying
£699.95 for this
http://www.wineworks.co.uk/product/apple-crusher/
(or at this point is it just better to go for the Speidel Mill from
Vigo at £745)

Thanks
James

Theres not many at all on ebay now, shame cause they were loads on
clearance just a month or two ago :(

James, the first of your links looks like a motorised version of the hand
cranked scratter sold by Vigo to go with their small basket presses, it
may not therefore produce the fine pomace that the shark produces. The
other may well be similar to the Spieidel Mill. Vicky who has been
importing the fruit shark for a few years now is not always quick to
respond, I do not believe it is her prime occupation. Others have
imported the Shark in the past so if she is no longer doing so it would be
possible to try youself but be prepared for having to do a lot of footwork
that getting one from Vicky would avoid. For example mine is one of a
batch of three that Ray imported. Since she imports regularly Vicky will
have the system properly sorted out but patience particularly at this time
when apples are coming on stream may be difficult for you.

Dear all,

Michael is correct importing the Sharks is not my day job and I am
struggling to manage what was originally only a 'hobby' importing them
and dealing with emailed enquiries (of which I can receive several per
day).

I have a couple left in stock but after over 5 years I am looking to
hang up my hat as it were. If anyone is seriously interested in
taking on the role then please contact me off list however please note
this is an exercise for the love of it not big profits I'm afraid and
you need to be able to receive and store pallets, transfer Euros and
arrange UK on shipping and re-packaging.

Kind regards,
Vicky

HI James

Wondering if you got a fruit shark? Also interested in something like this and also in East Yorkshire. Maybe an equipment cooperative is a possibility?
