Sorry if this has been discussed before but on phone and searching not as good. This year I will be making some single vartietal ciders in 200 litre plastic barrels. Roughly how much apples do I need? In past I have mixed apples so not a problem. Kingston Black and Dabinet. Cheers Trevor

It depends primarily on the efficiency of your mill and press system. Taking an average value of 65%, you will get 65 litres of juice from 100 kg of fruit.

We use a Kreuzmayr belt Press KEB500 and are getting a max. of 75% yield. It all depends on the apples though. Variety as well as age and deterioration state will make up your yield. The older/softer the apple the less yield.
If you want the least amount of waste. Juice them 1-2 weeks after picking if they have been in cold storage. 1-2days if they have been sitting outside. This will also reduce sediments.
