Grafting and fruit buds

A question if I may ? I’m given grafting a go this year onto some rootstock. They all seem to be working well, but I notice that a number of the buds are definitely fruit buds. If I leave them (pinch out any apples that might form), will it work ? I was working with limited grafting material so couldn’t just pick scions with good leaf buds.

Just pinch the individual flowers off as soon as they are big enough to do so.
