I have still been unable to obtain a reply from Tesco regarding the
content of their sterilising fluid,so am looking elsewhere to find a
supplier.I have Googled it and am still confused about the details of
the many products on the market.Could someone advise me where they
obtain their sodium hypochlorite solution from?

Thanks for that. Can this 14/15% solution be picked up from a supplier
to avoid the heavy postal charges.I am not sure what type of store to
find this type of product.I live in Stockport (S.Manchester) and I am
sure there would be a suppier in such a large conurbation.

Sodium Hypochlorite is a very commonly used dairy steriliser, so any
agricultural merchant or co-op - around here it is Mole Valley
Farmers - should have it, and it is probably the most economical way
of buying.
Good Luck

Could not find sodium hypochlorite at Chelford farm supplies,at least
not marked as such.
However (see my earlier post about Tesco Baby steriliser),Tesco
enquiries have finally phoned me back saying that their steriliser
contains 2.2% sodium hypochlorite.So since this is £0.64 for a 1.25
litre bottle, this is equivalent to about £3.50 for a litre of the
14/15% solution. So the Tesco price is not bad compared with the more
commercially available products given the ease of use.

I don't know the concentration but hypochlorite from Chelford is
£11.05 for 25 litres.
I'm going to guess that's a bit cheaper than Tesco.

My fil buys in tankers of hypochlorite, waters it down and sells to
farmers in 25 and 205 litre drums. Fortunes to be made.

I don't use it, it taints things if you aren't careful IMO.

Have you tried a swimming pool maintenance company? In the 80s I bought some super strength (30 odd% from memory) to clean a pool which suffered flood damage. Alternatively agrichemical outlets; It's worth a chat to the Mole Valley's / CountryWise's to see where they get their stock from.
