I have no idea what a "torrent" is but is it legal...? Looks a bit
circumspect to the uninitiated ( ie: me).
Neither have I any desire to meet half-naked 20-something's who live in my
locality! :-)

It is almost always against copyright laws

Also a risk of invasion of your computer. Don't do it :)) Film makers need
to eat too !

Yes, it is illegal. I, too, would caution not using it, but I must confess that I have, mostly out of annoyance and the feeling that I've been backed into a corner.

Basically, people say that they have a file they are willing to share, and it downloads from multiple volunteers at the same time to your computer. It is suppose to be quicker that way and doesn't drain the bandwidth of one volunteer. See Wikipedia under BitTorrent.

You can watch the whole thing for free online, from PBS's website, legally:

That URL will also show you snippets (of the apple topic) for those of us who only care about apples ;)

Bit torrent is merely a means of transferring data, in particular a large
amount of data quickly, without overloading machines or network. As such
it's pretty much value-neutral. But it can be used for good or evil.
