Do not graft perry pears on to quince, they have various levels of incompatibility as shown in Long Ashton trial of the 60’s, detailed in the book “Perry Pears”.

Are the main perry pear rootstocks used in the uk.
Quince rootstocks can be used but only if you use an inter-stem of a compatible variety, Beurre Hardy is listed as compatible and has been tested in trials.
