Hi all,
I was reviewing the instructions for Lalvin D47 and QA23 yeast rehydration procedure today and noticed a difference between the recommended rehydration temperatures listed on the printed instructions on the small packets for use in a small 5 gallon size batch and the Lalvin instructions given on the Lalvin data sheets.
The packet instructions for both D47 and QA23 recommend a rehydration temperature of 95-98.6 F as opposed to a range of 95-104 F on the Lalvin data sheet. Curious if anyone else has noticed this and if the difference matters.
Since the recommended temperatures on the small packets are within the range on the data sheet I assume that staying within the range of 95-98.6 listed on the small packet make the distinction moot but the larger range on the data sheet allows for a little more flexibility. It is probably not a big deal but I'm curious if others have noticed this difference and whether it really makes any difference.
Thanks,
