My 2023 batch was popping corks a few months back, so I opened each
bottle and recorked figuring that would be the end of it (SG was 1.002
at that point). However, I recently lost another bottle and
investigation showed that many of them were preparing to pop, so I
decided to pull all the corks again, let the bottles vent for an hour or
so, and then recork. However, as I pulled the corks, I noticed that most
of them had a ring of grey/green mold between cork and bottle. Although
I have recorked for the moment, I am wondering if I should decant all
bottles into a carboy, sulfite at some moderate level to kill of the
mold, and then refill into clean bottles and recork yet again?
