Let’s Free the Streets of South LA in 2012!!!
Last year we successfully promoted the need for a pedestrian event on the scale of CicLAvia in South LA.
Please join the CicLAvia South LA Host Committee as we begin another year promoting a healthy and active South LA community.
RIDE TO THE WATTS TOWERS!!!
We will be doing our next Exploration Ride on Sunday January 22, 2012. We will meet at Augustus Hawkins Natural Park at 10am and ride to the Watts Towers!!
At the park we will have a short Bike Fitting and Maintenance workshop sponsored by Bikerowave and CICLE (a project of LA County RENEW).
We are also asking ride participants to have their cell phones ready as we will be featuring the USC Annenberg School's PARTOUR project as they show us how to use our handheld phone (of any model) to take photos and text/voice notes along the ride to help make a map of our ride that can help promote more biking in South LA!
At the towers the Eastside Riders will host a bike tour of the community featuring the Watts Labor Community Action Center.
