I sometimes wonder what knowledge is available in non English languages. Knowledge that is effectively hidden because of the language barrier.

I do sometimes search for information in non English languages. Today I decided to search for IoC using the Chinese language. I used the search term "课程国际化“ which I think means "Curriculum Internationalisation". (Note: My knowledge of Chinese is only basic and so there may well be better translations)

I quickly found a relevant blog article at jyb.cn/world/gjgc/201402/t20140228_571987.html I used google to translate to English so that I could better read the article.

Have any of you searched for IoC and IaH in other languages? If yes, what were your findings?

I think it would be useful to have translations of IoC and IaH in other languages. These could then be used, for example, in the EAIE IaH landing page eaie.org/community/expert-communities/internationalisation-home.html and/or social media posts. It would also serve to add an additional internationalisation credential to IoC and IaH initiatives and projects.

Hi Andre
I have not done a search but there are IoC/IaH publications in Portuguese emanating from Brazil, publications in Spanish from the rest of South America and many from around Europe and Scandinavia in local languages. Google will translate most websites - but not all - but I think that it is helpful to have a basic familiarity with the original languages as google can give some strange translation at times!

Joint projects with other countries are ideal but they do need to be set up, carried out and evaluated on an equal footing, with issues of power figural. I have reviewed articles where projects have only been evaluated from the point of view of one partner in the project, with no discussion of power differentials, and I find this very disquieting.
