Conference: videos and more
Thanks to all of you who attended the conference 2 weeks ago. We had 702total incidences of participation in a session, with 255 registrants.
Videos of all plenary sessions are now on the ANGEL Youtube channel. An edited video selection of research presentations will be added next week.
We are happy to announce two awards that aim to highlight some pertinent research presentations given at the event, as voted on by our session Chairs.

Joyce Raanhuis (Centre for International Teacher Education, CPUT): Teachers as agents of social cohesion: The role of Continuing Professional Development for Social Cohesion in post-apartheid South Africa
Best paper award
Lisa Ferro (Polytechnic Institute of Beja) & Sandra Saúde (Polytechnic Institute of Beja / CICS.NOVA): The key role of Global Citizenship and Critical Education in promoting gender equality – evidences from an exploratory study developed in four municipalities of Baixo Alentejo, Portugal.
We are looking into encouraging and supporting publication of many of the papers at the conference, in either edited book form or in journals connected to the ANGEL project.

DERC seminar
Next in series of events for professionals and students of development education, global learning and global citizenship will see authors & DERC staff discussing issues raised by the new book 'Teaching for Social Justice and Sustainable Development Across the Primary Curriculum'. 22 June, 12:30 London time. Call for papers
A call is now open for the next issue of Synergies – Educational dialogues for social change. In the year of the centenary of the birth of Paulo Freire, the Sinergias team have chosen the theme of: "(Re)reading societal challenges in the light of Freirian thought - past, present and future(s)". Deadline for abstracts: June 30.

Report
Members at the Ubuntu Network, a project supporting the integration of Development Education into post primary Initial Teacher Education in Ireland, have asked us to share a report from their recent Ubuntu Assembly meeting: Global Citizenship Education and the Céim Standards for Initial Teacher Education.
MECCE Project
Those interested in climate change education may be interested to attend launch events of the Monitoring and Evaluating Climate Communication and Education (MECCE) Project's Regional Hub network, with several regional events across this month.

Members working for the Global Citizenship Education program of the Belgian Development Agency (Enabel) have asked us to share their new publication: The relationship between Global Citizenship Education and Education for Sustainable Development.

Conference
The Irish Development Education Association is holding a Virtual Conference next week on 22 - 24 June. The event, focusing on'Global Citizenship and Inequality 2021: Forging a New Path?', will provide a space to explore global citizenship and inequality in the context of what’s happening in 2021.
