Have your voice heard
We want to hear student’s stories, ideas and opinions about higher education and their experiences in a short video. A selection of the video statements will be played during the HERDSA 2021 conference. Students from any country, discipline and academic level are invited to submit a video.
The best video will receive a $250 book voucher kindly donated by

Keynote speaker highlight: Professor Baden Offord
 | Professor Baden Offord is Emeritus Professor of Cultural Studies and Human Rights at Curtin University. Between January 2015 to December 2020, he held the Haruhisa Handa Chair in Human Rights and was Director of Curtin University's renown Centre for Human Rights Education. Baden was born in Aotearoa/New Zealand of Māori and Pākehā heritage, and has lived most of his life in Australia, as well as several years in Spain, South India, and Japan. He was educated at The University of Sydney, Australian National University and Southern Cross University. A recipient of several national teaching awards including an ALTC and Carrick, he has an abiding passion for the purpose of higher education and its transformative potential. An internationally recognized specialist in human rights, sexuality, culture, critical suicide studies and education, he is also part of a scholarly and activist community that works collectively to decolonize and destabilize the study of sexuality in Southeast Asia.

buddy program information for further details. We hope to accommodate all those new to HERDSA, but participation is dependent on how many buddies (experienced conference delegates) are available. Those new to HERDSA will be matched on a first-in first-matched basis. If you wish to be allocated a HERDSA buddy or wish to be a HERDSA buddy for the 2021 Brisbane conference, please confirm your interest via the online registration form no later than Wednesday 9 June 2021. You will receive an email on Wednesday 16 June 2021 to inform you of your buddy’s details!
