Dear esteemed colleagues, I recently had the pleasure to converse with James Banks, 'Father of Multicultural Education' Prof. Banks is the Kerry and Linda Killinger Endowed Chair in Diversity Studies Emeritus at the University of Washington, Seattle.
In this video-interview, part of my edited 'Interview Series on Global Citizenship Education', we discuss multicultural education, transformative citizenship and global citizenship as well as key themes of Banks’ research work including the 'citizenship-education dilemma', 'learning for democratic values', 'transformative classroom' and 'failed citizenship'.
