The book provides a history of how education has been linked to social change around the world, discusses theoretical and conceptual frameworks, examines opportunities and challenges, and reviews current international initiatives. ANGEL / TEESNet Network on Global Education & Learning Last week saw the first meeting of a new group of UK academics working on GEL and related topics. Global Learning and Int'l Development in the Age of Neoliberalism A new book from Stephen McCloskey (Centre for Global Education) argues that the int'l development sector has failed to address the dominant development question of our age, the neoliberal growth paradigm, & proposes a new development paradigm, focusing on bottom-up, participative approaches. Woodcraft symposium Please see this call for papersrelating to a symposium (14 May) focused on encouraging a scholarly, informed discussion of the Woodcraft Folk. It aims to examine the nature of its internationalist outlook and the ideologies and movements that influenced it.Deadline: February 1.
