Eid Celebration

Assalamu Alaykum

InshaAllah, you are all doing well.

Few of us have talked in the past about the fact that MCWS does not have anything organized for the kids or any Eid Celebration on the day of Eid..... unlike other communities like Unity Center and ICD, where kids have a blast right after Eid prayer..

This year, InshaAllah, Eid will be on Friday.. There was a suggestion of having an Eid celebration at the masjid, right after Jummah - for 2 or 3 hours... We would have cotton candy, popcorn, balloons, couple of bouncers (we can't have too many rides because of parking issues during Jummah).. and maybe invite vendors to sell food..
we can invite local businesses like sultan express, chicken licken, bombay wraps, etc..

You all know how crazy Ramadan is at MCWS... It is way too busy and exhausting at the end..... Ramadan is busy for all of us , Alhamdulillah.. none of us want to sacrifice our worship during Ramadan to organize such an event.. But if all of us chip in prior to Ramadan and work on this together, we can make it happen, InshaAllah...

Few things that I can list as tasks to be done:

1- contact vendors

2- rent bouncers

3- setup tents on the day off

4- setup cotton candy and popcorn machines, snow cone and get all required supplies

5- get balloons and/or whatever we decide in terms of decoration.

6- Decorate the day of Eid. (or the night before)

7- Be there!!

8- Make a flier and publicize

9- Get volunteers to make cotton candy, popcorn, snowcone, etc...

10- Volunteers to cleanup.

Please note that the event is not set in stone...This is a suggestion... It will only happen if we get enough help..
