Badass (And Her Sister), which is now in development, revolves around an impossibly badass spy (Bloom) who tires of her life of sexy espionage and goes to live with her pushover twin sister (also played by Bloom) and, together, they learn what it means to actually be badass.

Brosh McKenna is currently directing her first feature film, Your Place or Mine, starring Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher for Netflix, along with developing other projects under her Lean Machine banner at ABC Signature. Brosh McKenna is known for her 2006 adaptation of the popular novel The Devil Wears Prada and for co-creating the Emmy-winning Crazy Ex-Girlfriend with Bloom, on which Brosh McKennna served as showrunner and directed the finale episodes of all four seasons. Her other feature writing credits include 27 Dresses, Morning Glory and We Bought a Zoo. Brosh McKenna is repped by CAA and Ken Richman at HJTH.

But a deeper look at the new series, based on the bestselling novel by Alexis Schaitkin, shows that the story extends beyond what's become the popular girl gone missing trope and instead explores the lives of those affected by a young woman's tragic death.

\"It sort of does deal with a lot of concepts and issues about how when something like this happens in a community or in a foreign country, it's then spun out in the media in so many different ways,\" she added.

\"Saint X\" follows a young woman named Alison Thomas (West Duchovny), who goes missing while on vacation with her family at Indigo Bay Resort on Saint X, a fictional island in the Caribbean. Two male employees, Edwin Hastie (Jayden Elijah) and Clive Richardson (Josh Bonzie), at the resort are suspected of her murder, but eventually released due to insufficient evidence.

Years later, after a chance encounter in a taxi with Clive (Bonzie), Alison's little sister, Emily Thomas (Debnam-Carey), who has been impacted by her sister's tragic death, goes on an obsessive pursuit to find out what happened to her sister and who her sister really was.

With Alison's death at the center of \"Saint X,\" many have an idea of the story's general focus, but the novel and accompanying series instead uniquely give audiences a multifaceted look at the death's rippling effect for many on the island.

The story unfolds through a lense in which audiences see what an event like this does for not only the family of the deceased, but how it also leaves a lasting impact on those who were accused of her death.

\"It upends the sort of white girl gone missing [story],\" West Duchovny, who plays Alison in the series said. \"It really puts forth the ways in which the trauma and the grief and the prejudices really affect so much more than just Alison's family.\"

In the events leading up to Alison's murder, audiences get a glimpse of Edwin and Clive's friendship and what working at the resort is like. Viewers also learn how the resort came to be and how its history influences Edwin's and Clive's attitudes toward the guests.

\"His school that he went to is no longer there, his house that his friend lives in has been knocked down to build this resor,\" Elijah continued. \"And these people come to his island he feels that they don't treat him with a level of respect that you should have coming to an island as a guest.\"

\"The big message I took away is that sometimes in our rush to understand something or place blame or judgment, we fail to see things as they actually are,\" Bonzie said. \"There's kind of a funhouse mirror effect that happens when a tragedy occurs. We're so quick to be like, who did this, who's responsible? And we will place blame anywhere.\"

\"What really attracted me to this role was the personal psychological experience that this would have on a person,\" Debnam-Carey said on portraying Emily. \"How it would affect someone trying to uncover what really happened, but then also who she is, and what kind of person she was [when she] was a child that kind of was left behind that now she's trying to fill the void in her family.\"

\"With the book, you get a little bit more of Alison,\" she said. \"But in the show, you get her for those eight days that she's on vacation. So for me, it was such a challenge and so important to me. Like how can I do justice to this character within these parameters.\"

I freaking loved this show when it was on & I still do. In fact, seeing it show up on my Netflix search is the reason I decided to get a subscription. I hate that there are missing episodes. So mad. I will have to head to Amazon to purchase the series on DVD.

Thanks for this list! As I am watching the missing episodes on youtube, I am noting these episodes all have cast members singing parts of songs as part of the plot. Very difficult to fix I imagine without butchering the scenes. The rest of the episodes are now on Hulu instead of Netflix, btw.

Go to CBS.com under TV classics and there are always a few Wings episodes available free - you don't have to get the CBS All Access trial. It's not much, but at least it's something that will give you your Wings fix.

Nope Netflix dropped wings and coach however you can still watch wings on huluplus I'm re watching and coinsedently I'm in bed watching lol.. Same eps are missing but at least we can watch most! Still sad about Coach tho ?

I loved Wings back in the 90's! I think it's one of the most underrated shows of all time. The chemistry between the characters was excellent. I want to buy the entire series on DVD but it hasn't been updated and the set doesn't include any extras of any kind. I wish they would update it to Blueray maybe do some interviews with cast members etc.

Thanks for the info! I'm watching Wings on Prime right now and realized there were missing episodes after watching the high school reunion ep when the lady Brian was seeing told Joe that her kid might be his and then it was not continued in the next ep I watched!

I thought I was only one who watched these to go to sleep; funny, looks like Im not alone. I agree, very underrated TV show and they tie in with each other across seasons. One of my favorite episodes was the Clint Black guest star, found this post and explains why it is not on HULU. Didnt realize so many were missing.

@anonymous Edgy? Talking opening about sex? Wings barely talked about sex, and certainly no more than other shows of the time. Hell, Cheers had a main character talking about sex in 1982. Also, a gay character in a sitcom episode? M*A*S*H did that in 1974.

Wings was extremely MOR and safe. It didn't push a single boundary. It wasn't that kind of show.

"People we love won't ever understand how hard it can be to do these things. But we do them anyway." Hulu has unveiled an official trailer and poster for the upcoming British comedy series titled Dinosaur, set for streaming starting in April. This is made by BBC Scotland and is set in Glasgow as a comedy series for the UK, yet Hulu is getting first dibs on unveiling it before it's launched in the UK. Co-created by Matilda Curtis and Ashley Storrie. "Everything is about to change - their sisterhood is about to evolve." Nina, a 30-something woman with autism, has her entire world shaken up when her sister Evie, also her best friend, hastily decides to get engaged, threatening to upend the dynamics of their close relationship. The comedy series stars Ashley Storrie as Nina and Kat Ronney as Evie, and it also features David Carlyle, Lorn Macdonald, Danny Ashok, Greg Hemphill, Sabrina Sandhu, Ben Rufus Green. Not only a joyful comedy about the complications of life but it's also about autism and a few of the struggles that come with it.

The film is shooting in LA and New Orleans and is set to wrap production on July 22. It will officially premiere in 2023 as a Hulu Original in the United States and on Star+ and Disney+ in other territories. The production from 20th Century Studios is described as a sister comedy.

A sister in Appalachian Virginia has been getting the small-screen treatment as a prominent character on Hulu's new limited series "Dopesick," which depicts Beth Davies, a Notre Dame of Montreal sister who ministers to people battling opioid addiction.

The series is based on journalist Beth Macy's 2018 book, Dopesick, which explores the mighty corporate forces behind the ongoing opioid crisis that have long ravaged the nation, particularly throughout regions like Davies' coal country.

Davies has spent more than half her life in southwestern Virginia. As a recovering alcoholic, her experiences inspired her and the late Elizabeth Vines (a sister of Divine Providence) to launch the Pennington Gap-based Addiction Education Center in 1982, a rare resource of addiction treatment for locals.

Davies became certified as an alcohol and drug counselor. "It was the only way we could start something," she told Global Sisters Report in 2018, adding that despite her experience taking on coal companies and providing medical care, the opioid epidemic was unlike anything she'd ever witnessed.

Talitha Kum, the international network-of-networks that unites sisters in the fight against human trafficking, is commemorating the United Nations' International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women with a new call to action.

The organization invites participants to join the launch on Thursday, Nov. 25 at 9 a.m. EDT (3 p.m. Central European Time) for a two-hour livestream. The calls to action, according to the program, will entail justice for survivors, women's empowerment, legal migration pathways and economy of care.

The project aims to increase their scholarly research skills, offer opportunities so that the sisters can engage in research projects, and develop the ASEC as a "repository of data" regarding African women religious, according to a press release.
