To answer your other question innr are fine, but i have had more bulbs die from them than any of my philips hue. White colors arent quite as good imo (HA reports kelvin range being better, but looks worse to the eye imo). They dont seem to support transitions, so no fading from off to on just straight jaring on. The HA transitions in the light.turn_on service work still though.
With Smart TVs around, people require that it connects to the wifi so that they can stream all of their favorite shows and movies. But, without being connected to the wifi network, the tv is useless, unless you have content to watch via your cable connection. So, if you have misplaced your remote, or waiting for a new one to arrive, this is the guide for you.
If your Philips Smart TV has more than two buttons, such as the volume up and down, channel up and down and the menu button, then you can press those buttons to navigate through the Settings on your TV to connect it to the wifi. The buttons are either present at the bottom, left, or right panels of your Phillips TV. If your TV only has the power and reset button, it would be ideal to follow the next step.
Philips TVs running on Android TV OS has support for input devices such as keyboard and mouse. So, simply connect both devices to the USB ports present at the back or sides of your TV and use the arrow keys to navigate from the home screen to the Settings icon at the right. Or, you could use the mouse to click and go through the menus to connect your Philips TV to the wifi without a remote.
If you have the keyboard with a USB dongle, that would also work perfectly with your Philips Android TV. If you have a USB gaming controller, it would also help you in navigating through the settings to connect to the wifi network.
A good number of Android devices, mostly older ones from Samsung, and Xiaomi have Infrared built into the device. With onboard Infrared, one can make use of the Infrared remote app on the device. Launch the app, and select the type of product as well as the brand. Simply point it to your TV and then after a couple of tries, you should be able to control your TV and connect to the Wifi network by using the infrared remote app on your mobile.
Do note that this method will only work if your TV was previously connected to a wifi network. If it is a new TV, it would be advisable to follow the above-mentioned methods to connect the TV to your Wifi network without the remote.
Some Android Smart TVs out there will be sporting a LAN port at the back or sides of the TV. You can simply connect one end of the ethernet cable to your router and the other end to your Smart TV. In this way, you will be able to access the internet.
This concludes the different ways you can follow to connect your Philips Smart TV to the wifi network without using a TV remote. It is recommended that you always have the Google TV app set up as soon as your purchase a new TV or move to another place with a different wifi network as this helps you not worry about losing the remote. The Philips TV is a popular brand among Smart TVs that offer tough competition to Panasonic and Samsung. The specialty of this particular model lies in its durability, long-lasting features as well and easy user interface.
Philips TVs are a popular choice for consumers looking for quality televisions. If you are one of the many people who have purchased a Philips TV, it is important to know how to turn it on without the remote control. This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to do this.
So I have a old phillips tv that has roku on it, and when I say old I mean 8 years or so. I recently plugged a playstation into it because it was just sitting in the spare room not being used as it has no remote, it worked great just using the single button on the back to switch inputs but now all of a sudden despite it not being connected to the internet or me using any of the roku **bleep** on it I have a pop up with dispute resolution terms every time I turn it on that I cannot clear as I don't have a fking remote. I would accept it if I could.. Just to get it out of my **bleep** face. Any solutions to this? Though judging with how helpful roku seems to be around here I won't hold my breath and will probably be forced to buy a new TV, I can tell you right now it won't be a roku or phillips.
I'm adding to this discussion hoping to get more visibility on this issue. My roku TV has this pop up, also without a remote and no internet connection. Using the roku app as a remote is impossible because that requires an IP address which I can't get to because the TV is stuck on the pop-up.
I can add my rant that Roku is a streaming platform only and does not have the right to disable other features of their HOST TV that are unrelated to streaming. Which is exactly what this coercive, forced attempt to elicit an acceptance of unreasonable arbitration terms does.
After several conversations with Roku customer service and their technical support, the response ultimately was, 'too bad, press accept, or you don't get to use your TV.' Roku's useless response to their customer's request/inquiry was given after an unreasonable amount of hold time and numerous transfers to other departments, might I add. Plus, one of their technical "support" phone agents was sarcastically sucking their tongue and expressing the exasperated, "ugh," when I refused to accept the response. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was told they were on another call and would call me back. There was no call back.
Overall, my Roku customer service/support experience was so shockingly unprofessional and unacceptable, it has permanently ended any current or future business association with this streaming platform. There are just too many other streaming platform options out there to tolerate this nonsense!
In contrast, I spoke with Phillips customer service and also received the reset solution suggested by another user in the thread above. Phillips support was patient, effective, polite, prompt, and responsive. Unfortunately, my TV can't be connected to the internet without Roku resending their "virus," so I am going to try to plug in another external streaming platform's player like Chromecast or Fire. If that doesn't work, I am going to request a refund or replacement from Phillips as my TV is still under warranty.
Regardless of the outcome, I thought the retailer I purchased the TV from as well as the manufacturer of the TV should know about Roku's predatory practices. I encourage you and any other frustrated user(s) to report this incident to the FCC. Another user suggested to just send the letter to opt out, but in my opinion that only allows Roku to continue to bully their customers and funds any future predatory business practices.
Don't trust Roku. If your TV was previously connected to WiFi and you disconnected it, Roku may connect to it for updates even though you think it is not connected. People have been saying they have had to reset their WiFi password before factory resetting the TV or they continue to get the Dispute Resolution prompt. I have not attempted this yet myself though. I have way too many smart switches and devices to update if my WiFi password changes.
I have a HR24/200 a Universal DirecTV remote RC66RX and a Samsung model UN40H5003AFXZA. The model # for my TV is not listed and so I said that I did not know my model # and went ahead and programmed the remote the volume will work, the TV will turn on but the DirecTV remote will not turn off the TV we have to use our Samsung remote to turn off the TV which is a pain in the a$$. Can anyone help with this problem?? I also did try other remote codes without any luck.
I can't find how to manually put in a remote code when my Samsung model number is not in the list. When it says did the code work and I say no it will only auto program the remote and does not allow me to put in the code that you sent me.
I am not having a problem with the volume......What I need is instructions how to program the off button. You gave me a remote code for my TV but there is not an option to to enter that code when you follow the online program results options. So far you have not solved this problem.

You do not seem to understand that when your follow the remote setup instructions and your model is not listed it does not allow the user to manually put in the code that you sent me. It will only allow auto program remote.
After updating my Apple TV to the recent tvOS 17.4, the CEC control via HDMI is lost. Afterwards I have reset Apple TV to its default values, but it did not solve the problem. I also cycled the CEC control off/on (Viera Link) on my Panasonic LX1500 OLED - without any difference. Does anyone here experience the same issue?
To everyone discussing AppleTV remote (black, silver, or whatever): This thread is not about a remote that came with the AppleTV. It's about television remote (Samsung, LG, Panasonic, etc.), that through the magic of HDMI CEC (over HDMI cable) can also control the AppleTV. These remotes don't have to be "learned", they just work out of the box. But now, at least with 17.4 and 1st generation 4K AppleTV, they don't.
