Instagram is based on visuals, which should be an indication of how important it is to follow these image size guidelines. Ensure your profile image is recognizable so users can find you even easier through search or explore.

i need help as i am not sure what size i should keep the logo because i have tried 180px x 180px as well as 320px x 320px but still the instagram profile logo appears blurry when uploaded to instagram profile.

Where are those values coming from? Seems all guides point to 320x320 as recommended but Instagram default profile picture (the grey avatar icon they use) is 340x340px and as far as i can see the profile image size they display on desktop is 150x150px, not 180x180px (profile page). Are there any official Instagram guidelines somewhere?

This is what i found in their Help Center regarding uploading photos. I didn't find any specific sizes for profile pictures there.

Yes, I noticed all guides point to these values but I'm not seeing Instagram using them (not with their default source profile image nor the size that image is then displayed in the profile page) on desktop (didn't check on mobile) thus my question...

I'm new to Illustrator, purchased to develop a logo for a project I'm working on. I managed to create what I need, but have been unable to size it properly to fit into an Instagram profile circle. I have exported and selected 110x110 for sizing (Instagram's suggested sizing), but it still does not fit in that damn circle, AND the quality of the text is impacted greatly (I get making things larger causes distortion, but thought smaller would not be an issuer?).

The not specified thing is that instagram actually reads the center of the picture you upload: without a hidden circle pointing the software in the area to focus, it zooms automatically to the center of the picture, regardless the image size you posted (frankly, for a picture-based social network, this is CRAZY!).

a few days ago i was able to fetch inta profile pic in my android app by remove vp/ from the pic URL and change the resolution from s150x150 to s720x720 for exp ,and it worked fine but now i still get "invalid url signature" , so i think instagram has added signature to their url ,I usually remove the parte from vp/ to /t51 in the pic URL... like this

Navigating the digital landscape of social media can be quite the puzzle, but get this: knowing the right social media image sizes can help you put it all together quickly. With the appropriate image dimensions at your fingertips, you can display pictures as intended without awkward crops or loss of quality.

YouTube has grown as a video-sharing platform, boasting over 2.49 billion monthly users. As much as videos are central, accompanying images like channel banners, profile pictures, and video thumbnails play a significant role.

The Facebook Image size should be 1200 x 628 pixels. Upload your images in the JPEG format under 100 Kb for better results. Also, images with text (for instance, brand logo) should be posted as a PNG file.

Finally, the actual file Instagram stores is 320 x 320 pixels and 1:1. Because of this, you should ideally upload a 320x320 pixel image (the Instagram profile size) so that it will be clear even in the desktop app and as future-proof as possible for Instagram updates.

Be careful about uploading an image that is too large, either in file size or resolution, or that has an aspect ratio that Instagram doesn't support. If you do upload an image that doesn't meet their guidelines, the channel will resize logo for Instagram profile picture and compress that image, as stated here:

In addition to the pixel and ratio limits given there, their compression will also kick in if your Instagram profile size is too large. If you have already shrunk it to a 320 x 320 pixel image, you should be fine for size, but if you are seeing compression, you may need to reduce the quality a bit.

It's ideal to utilize photos with a 1:1 aspect ratio because Instagram profile photos are circular. They have a display that is only 110 110 pixels, so it's crucial to utilize every available pixel. A subject that is poorly cut or too far away won't help your brand be recognized right away. Your logo size for Instagram needs to be done correctly for your photo to be as impactful as it should.

Use only crystal-clear, high-resolution pictures. Always choose photographs that look clear and spacious; avoid selecting any that appear cluttered. Verify that each profile photo is properly cropped for both desktop and mobile displays.

Always keep in mind that your Instagram profile picture will be shown in other places outside of your profile page, such as your story feed, comments, and search results. As a result, using the incorrect Instagram profile photo size might have a significant influence on your social media visibility.

Wondering what the ideal Instagram profile picture size is? Your Instagram profile picture will display at 110 x 110 pixels with an aspect ratio of 1:1. A perfect, tiny square.
