3RD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CIVIC SPACE AT IACS 2015
After the success of the 1st International Conference on Civic Space (ICCS) in Universitas Indonesia Depok in 2010 and the 2nd ICCS held in 2013 in Yogyakarta, the 3rd International Conference on Civic Space this year will be held in conjunction with Inter-Asia Cultural Studies Society Conference 2015. There will special panel sessions allocated for the ICCS during the IACS Conference (Inter-Asia Cultural Studies Conference 2015).

2015 MA PROGRAM IN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF TAIWAN (IACS-UST) IS NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATION
The University System of Taiwan is a network system connecting four distinguished research-oriented universities in Taiwan, including National Chiao Tung University (國立交通大學), National Tsing Hua University (國立清華大學), National Central University (國立中央大學) and National Yang Ming University (國立陽明大學). With a pool of over 70 outstanding faculty members from various disciplinary backgrounds in the four universities, the main objective of IACS-UST is to foster inter-disciplinary and cross-cultural studies, focusing on critical inter-Asia cultural studies. IACS-UST brings together the strength and specialization of these colleagues and forms a strong research team as well as solid curricula.
The highlights of our course clusters are:
1. Critical Theory and Asian Modernity,
2. Contemporary Thought-trends and Social Movement,
3. Gender and Sexuality Studies,
4. Visual Culture Studies (Art History & Cinema Studies).
The courses include Critical Intellectual History in Asia, East Asian Political Thoughts, Chinese History and Culture, Taiwan Literature and Culture, History of Modern Japanese Thoughts, Critical East Asian Cinema, Contemporary Migrant Workers in Asia, Gender Issues in Asia, Comparative Studies on the Democratic Movements in Taiwan and Hong Kong, Contemporary Critical Theory and so on.
IACS-UST offers courses both in English and in Chinese (it also offers mandarin courses of various levels for international students).
