Iwant something to take inspiration from to propose to my BD for a halftime show. I don't want it to just be something like "Spanish" or "Movies." And I don't want to just completely copy all of the songs. I'd just like some themes to take inspiration from. This year is taking a turn for the better. The show is called "From the Ashes." It's a very DCI-Inspired show

Centering in on the Palio horse festival of the City of Siena would be one possibility (each neighborhood having its own colors and flags) or "Lago" with the many lakes of Northern Italy might be another possibility. Cf. BD 2014 for "Be Italian" or Rota's La Strada Theme (la strada being the main boulevard or street in most Italian cities.) Your language arts, history, art, fine arts, and social studies faculty could all be involved and love it too.

Not sure why you are taking Cadet potshots in this young OP's thread other than to be vicious. Go back to studying for your DCI field trials where you at least have to feign being nice for the tapes. :-D

While we're on the topic of Italy, I've always loved Respighi'a other "of Rome" piece, "Fountains of Rome". There's a killer brass feature right smack in the middle of it that I've been aching to hear in DCI or just on the field in general.

During 2001 and 2002, LEGO released three legendary castle sets. They included the first LEGO Legend, 10000 Guarded Inn, a second LEGO Castle Legend, 10039 Black Falcon's Fortress, and 3739 Blacksmith Shop designed by Daniel Siskind. While the Blacksmith Shop is not an official "LEGO Legend", because it was released around the same time and the fact that it was a fan favorite, I've included it as 'Legendary' set.

I only own the original version of the guarded inn, but i'd really love to have all these 3 in their re-released verison. I voted for Black falcon's Fortress because i always wanted this set ever since i saw it first. The addition of the "living area" in form of the "tower" in the back is such a nice touch. Too bad there was not much interior in the sets back then, but that could be easily modded.

I like the Guarded Inn most because of the rare red wall elements and the medieval lady. However, it was not so easy to make a decision. Black Falcon's Fortress is also an amazing set with a nice yellow wall element.

This isn't much of a contest for me. BFF is easily my favourite of these sets. As a source of bricks, BFF is incredible with 12 corner wall bricks, a huge assortment of old grey and those 4 fantastic black 75 degree corner slope bricks. I have 12 copies of the BFF whereas I only own 3 copies of the Guarded Inn and Blacksmith's Shop. All of these sets are very good; one (the BFF) is absolutely incredible. Nothing in the previous Castle or current Kingdoms line comes close IMO.

This was really a hard choice for me in terms of the vote. I had to give it a lot of thought. While I am tempted to vote for the Blacksmith Shop because I liked that it is a civilian structure, I like the figs in the Castle. - One more vote Black Falcon's Fortress.

All 3 sets are fantastic. Despite this it was easy to place a vote for me. I only own the BFF from these, and what's more that was my and my brother's only bigger castle set in our childhood. We spent a lot of time playing with our two BFFs. This set brings back lots of memories.

This may be another discussion entirely, but why is it that LEGO can't seem to capture the charm of these Legendary castle sets anymore? The new Kingdoms theme does have wonderful figs, but the design is far from being legendary.

In addition, it really is unfortunate that LEGO stopped their Legend program. One set a year (esp. Castle) would have been awesome. The consolation was Medieval Market I suppose. Perhaps there will be more of these AFOL Castle sets.

And secondly it includes no single room with interior. At least a treasure chamber, a jail and some sort of living room with a chimney, some seats and a table are for me a must-be-included in a good regular and esp. in an exclusive set.

Being an American, this was an easy choice. I have all three sets, but the Guarded Inn holds the fondest memories. It wasn't released in the US, and I discovered it while traveling Europe on a High School trip. I purchased it and brought it back with me... It completed my King's Castle, (original) Blacksmith Shop, Armory and guarded wall... The Black Falcon's didn't stand a chance even with their three fortresses...

I voted for the Guarded Inn. First of all I am a Crusader fan (Unfortunatly I was born in 1989... so when I was old enough to play with Lego Crusaders were gone). But the most important reason is the amazing tavern sign which is unique to this set. It is just fantastic.

The MSX version is still fairly upbeat, but I find that the lower pitch carries greater emotional resonance while the NES version is a bit too happy. I mean you are going on a perilous journey to stop an evil sorcerer from destroying the world and you need to brave some of the most difficult dungeons in the entire series. Although It could be that this specific melody works better with a lower pitch.

Well there you have it. Those were the Dragon Quest II overworld themes. For all I know, I could have missed another remix but if so, I will save them for some other time; mainly because these articles are supposed to be short and easy for me to make between reviews and this one was not short and easy. Also a reminder that Koichi Sugiyama is a bigot and a war crime apoligist, and he does not deserve your financial support no matter how good his music is.

Do you have a friend who just doesn't quite seem to be with it?He or she are present but not really contributing. They might havea mill deck. To get them help, please visit www.PhenaxDeceivedMeToo.com.This could be a matter of, well, we'd say life and death, butthey're really not doing anything to life totals, because they keeptrying to mill everyone... But it is a matter.

In this episode, Kyle explains mill themes and the many pitfallsof the strategy. Have a listen to explore the nuance of milling towin, milling for benefits--this is definitely the highly deductibleof win cons--and all about nonbos and making sure your mill themehas an accountant to check your numbers.

(1) I have the bounty but when I tag up I get three or four people joining so it's a no-go.(2) Someone else has it, pops it, notices "oh my - I can't solo it" starts to call for it in chat - usually no commander or mentor icon - and when you finally arrive - the location is a pretty far way from any of the sparsely situated waypoints (unless you know the shortcut) so when people arrive it's again only three or four and with a timer of, say, four to five minutes ... fail.

All the other achievements were doable since they're on a pretty predictable mechanism, usually close to a waypoint with people around. I get the feeling that some clever dev thought it would be fun to ram bounties down player's throats by including this in the griffon hunt - and - so much like Orr - it worked ... the first weeks when the mass of players was doing it. Now, a few weeks in, the map is what it is designed to be: a solo map - unlike HoT or Dry Top or the Silverwastes.

Edit: Got it - the lfg did help a bit but the real trick was to coordinate with someone who waited for 45 minutes for the contract, then grabbed it while I was gathering people. And only THEN did we go in ... pretty smooth run. Your lfg tip yielded 4 extra people who joined the guy with the bounty :)

I spent ages waiting for this guy... I'll give same advice someone in map chat gave me, keep an eye on the LFG and join a Legendary Bounty Train. They will eventually get the Facet, usually last so they can retain all the players on em but they do get there.

The answer is bounty trains. Obviously with the insane gold farm that is the Mad Lab, theres gonna a lot less people on the normal maps...... however, if you're in your server's prime time (or have enough guildies on to start the squad), you can start a train and build up people before heading to Facet.

The problem is you're trying to address only "your" problem, but expecting everyone else to drop what they're doing to come help. As helpful as people are in this game, too much waiting around for more people is no fun for anyone involved. You're also facing player psychology, where they see a Bounty group with only 4 people, and assume you're either a crappy commander, no one else is interested in a bounty train, or its a stale LFG that no one closed after the commander left. But if they see 12+ people in a bounty train LFG, join it and see people actively moving around, they know its active and are likely to stay for a few runs.

I once took over a Bounty train Vabbi after the commander left; and the remaining 12 of us were selectively going after achievement targets a person in the group needed. Thats a shared effort, where everyone felt it was worth contributing, because the others were willing to help in turn.
