Hi Tim

I've started to install your new app on my mac (os 10.6.8) and I have
got the following error when I run the install bundler:

Updating git://github.com/chriseppstein/compass.git
fatal: Could not parse object
'22e2458b77519e8eb8463170c1a1fe4bab105f3e'.
Git error: command `git reset --hard
22e2458b77519e8eb8463170c1a1fe4bab105f3e` in directory /Library/Ruby/
Gems/1.8/bundler/gems/compass-22e2458b7751 has failed.
If this error persists you could try removing the cache directory '/
Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/cache/bundler/git/compass-
dcbe0c41f22c777e90babfa80d61f78dfdea41b2'

Has anyone else encountered this and found the solution?

Regards

Justyn

Justyn, I'm seeing the same error on a fresh bundle install. I've documented the issue here:

https://github.com/churchio/profiles/issues/9

Should be fixed shortly. Thanks for letting us know!

Hi Tim

Thanks. I'm looking forward to being able to demo the system. I've
been reading your blog and it definitely is helpful and trying to
break open new ground. Go for it!

I didn't realize that profiles was as far as it is - I had glanced at the repo but haven't tried to run it until today  - I Set it up (after some struggles with postgres) and it looks good - I like the new look and  I am glad it is Rails 3.1 - Let me know if  can help with anything I am still a newbie and following this should be a great learning experience. I'd love contribute any way I can - Keep up the good work

Great! Glad you were able to get it running. Thanks for the kind words.

Just to be clear, Profiles is not necessarily going to implement the ideas I've laid out on the http://church.io blog -- those ideas are largely for an unnamed future project.

Profiles is to be the simplest possible open source solution for churches needing an online directory.

If anyone is interested in lending a hand, I've been documenting issues/work to do here: https://github.com/churchio/profiles/issues

Issues are organized by milestone and give a rough road map of the schedule ahead.

Thanks I looked at the issues - will look a little harder and try to tackle one - I saw some front end issues and now that I'm working with 3.1 some I want to get somewhat comfortable with sass

Let me know if there's anything I can help with.

I've been making a point to hang out in the IRC room at #church.io (on FreeNode) -- pop in there if you want to discuss.

I should say, more specifically, I'm generally in the IRC room from 9am-5pm CST on weekdays. Times outside of that are sporadic.
