Dear SCA members,
I hope you all enjoyed the one-day workshop in Thetford last weekend, which was a great success. This is just a quick reminder that the main SCA Conference for 2012, entitled "Making Christian Landscapes: Conversion and Consolidation in Early Medieval Europe", will be held September 21-23, at University College, Cork, and that registration is still open. The conference will consist of a full day of fieldtrips to early Christian Irish sites on Friday the 21st, followed by conference papers on the 22nd and 23rd, and a conference dinner Saturday night. Prices for the conference have been deliberately kept low (£69 for all elements, or just £30 for the conference without optional field trips and dinner) to encourage British-based SCA members to attend, so it's a great opportunity to hear about groundbreaking new research on early medieval European Christianity and see some of the most well-known archaeological sites in southwest Ireland.
