Upcoming Events
The Bishop’s Ranch Country Fair
July 5, 2008; 11 am to 3:30 pm. Come for an exciting day in the country. Bishop Marc Andrus and retired Bishop William Swing will dedicate the William and Mary Swing Hospitality Pavilion. For information contact Sarah McGowan at (707) 432-2440 x105.
Support AIDS Walk San Francisco 2008
The Episcopal Churches of the Bay Area Team is participating in AIDS Walk San
Francisco 2008, and Bob Birss will be walking. The team’s successful
launch in 2007 saw Bishop Marc lead 108 walkers in raising almost $30,000. We
were fourth of the top fundraising religious teams. And as you recall, Bishop
Marc stated at the recent Special Convention that this placement was not good
enough - we can be #1! Bishop Marc has also given dispensation to count those
walking into the Sunday attendance of the parishes.
This year,
our team has set a goal of raising $37,500. We can easily reach that goal if at
least 125 of our parish members and friends register and each raise only $300.
Please join our team today or support Bob by pledging on the sheet in the
parish hall! Individuals may register at our team Web page at www.aidswalk.net
or by calling (415) 615-9255.
On the Web page, simply click Register Today,
Join A Team, and then select our
team from the pull-down menu. We’re listed by the team name and our
number – 8125. Contributions to the team (Episcopal Churches - 8125) may
also be made on the Web page.
When:Sunday, July 20, 2008 (registration
begins at 9am; the Walk
begins at 10:30am)
Where:Golden Gate Park,
beginning at Sharon Meadow

More Notes of Interest

Epiphany’s Memorial Garden is one of the loveliest spots on the church grounds. It is the perfect spot to pray, meditate, read, listen to the musical chirping of birds, or to write an article for the Beacon. Take a moment before or after a church service to stop by. Or better yet, enjoy the tranquility and inspirational nature of this treasure during any time of day or evening. Our Seekers have donated a café table and chairs in thanks for the successful fundraising for their summer mission. Be sure to thank them and their parents for their hard work and generosity! The Garden Guild continues to provide its loving touch to maintain this garden. Visit and perhaps you’ll be moved to join us for occasional weeding, planting, or watering. If you desire more of God than you have right now, your longing for love, your discovery of the truest thing about you, in a safe and confidential circle of women, then join this group on Saturday mornings at church. The first session will be at 10 am, June 14, and continuing on June 28, July 12 and 26.The book can be ordered through Amazon.
Can You Help
Our companion parish needs help starting its sewing co-op and school. Padre Mario, the priest of our companion parish La Divina Providencia, has mentioned two specific things that would greatly help his parishioners: starting a sewing co-op and an Anglican grade school.
Estela Roldan will be traveling to El Maizal this summer to help with the sewing co-op. Although there is a limit on how much she will be able to carry, Estela would be happy to receive items such as fabric shears, thread, pins, and simple patterns to start the women on their way. There isbox in the parish hall (on the stage) marked El Salvador, for donations. Last day to receive gifts is Sunday July 6th. Please let Estela know: estela...@yahoo.com
Padre Mario has also requested help equipping the Pre-K class for the Anglican primary school. If you would like to help start this classroom, please make a donation to Epiphany with a notation that it is for Project El Salvador or Account Number 9365.
