GIVING OUT OF ABUNDANCE – Sharing the wealth
TODAY - ST. NICOLAS IS COMING TO TOWN! St. Nicholas will be coming for his annual visit TODAY after the 10 AM service. We will gather in the sanctuary so that the children can meet and greet the beloved Saint. Bring a new and unwrapped toy or teen gift to give to St. Nick… all donations will go to help the children of those incarcerated at the San Mateo County Jails. Epiphany has traditionally been a huge supporter of this important ministry and we pray the tradition will continue again this year! Questions? Call Hailey at 650-596-5714 or email hai...@cyberdeacon.com or Carol Bowen at cb4he...@comcast.net.
TODAY - “Help One Child” – If you took one of the gift ornaments please return the wrapped gift to the box in the parish hall by December 3. Contact Deborah Grace with any questions, 650-364-6306.
Human Rights letter signing is on December 10
The next Human Rights letter-signing activity will be on December 10. Also this month we will be signing a petition for “Torture is a Moral Issue” - the Statement of Conscience of the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT). The goal of this nation-wide effort is to have 50,000 signatures by January 15. Please stop by the table and sign letters on behalf of prisoners of conscience and victims of torture. Thanks for your support!

Contact Bob French, 650-363-1188 or bc2...@gmail.com if you can deliver food!! Takes about 30-40 minutes and usually to St. Peter's church or local Redwood City homes. Take the children; it's a great experience!
COOKIES FOR CHRISTMAS--The annual cookie drive for donations of cookies for the San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City will be December 17th and 18th. The cookies will be delivered with other goodies to the inmates on Christmas morning. Last year Epiphany donated 143 dozen cookies. I hope to increase that amount this year but only with your help. As we get closer to the date, I will tell you more about types of cookies and how to package them. If you have any questions at this time, give me a call--Frances Hart (650)854-4909 or email me at fri...@aol.com. I do appreciate all the help in making this project a success.
last chance, tupperware and chaplaincy! This is the last week to place your order. Tupperware has a special fundraising catalog that provides many Tupperware favorites to customers and then takes forty percent and gives it the sponsoring charity. Your purchase of Tupperware will go to support the Episcopal Chaplaincy at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. This is one of the organizations that our Outreach efforts support—and this catalog sale provides one more opportunity to support his important ministry.
Here’s how the Tupperware sale works—pick up a catalog in the parish hall. When you have made your selections, please bring the form and a check or cash (sorry, no credit cards) to Susan Munn or Hailey McKeefry Delmas. You will not be charged any shipping fees—and your order will be delivered to the church for pickup. Feel free to share the catalog with friends and family members—every sale supports the chaplaincy! Questions? Call or email Susan Munn at (650) 594-1509 or sbm...@comcast.net or Hailey at 650-596-5714 or hai...@cyberdeacon.com. Thank you for you continued support!
ADULT FORMATION OPPORTUNITIES-Within Epiphany and Beyond
An Advent Series for Epiphany adults: Thinking about Resources in a Spiritual Way: An Advent into Epiphany Exploration - In the midst of the whirlwind of the holiday season, Epiphany’s Adult Spiritual Formation Committee and Outreach Commission invite you to slow down and carve out time for theological study and reflection. Join Nina Brooks in exploring a parish study guide developed by the School of Ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina that examines God’s mission on earth, God’s call to us to fulfill that mission and how this call supports the Episcopal Church’s recent declaration of unprecedented support for the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the One Campaign to eradicate extreme global poverty. We will meet in the chapel on December 6 and 13 and January 3 and 10 (Wednesdays) from 7-8:30 pm.
Deanery Representatives Wanted!
The Diocese of California is comprised of six "deaneries", which are the link between our congregation and the diocese. The Peninsula Deanery develops and implements plans and policies for the Diocese through input to the diocesan budget and resolutions for the annual convention, it shares information and provides feedback, it participates in education by sponsoring workshops, and it develops programs and participates in creative ministries. The Peninsula Deanery meets quarterly for two hours at a parish around the peninsula. The next meeting will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 9th, at St. Bede's. You'll be welcome in the Deanery's activities nurturing relationships between Epiphany and other Episcopal congregations in the Diocese.
For more information, contact Bob Birss at bobb...@comcast.net or (650) 274-1191 or Gail Greenwell.
