Rector Search and Interim Priest Update
Thank you to all who submitted Search Committee questionnaires. The submissions were both numerous and reflective of prayerful discernment. Yet again our Epiphany community demonstrated what makes this such a special place.
The Vestry has begun assembling a committee from the pool of candidates. While this is a somewhat open-ended process, we do expect to have completed the selection by the end of this week. Please remember the Vestry in your prayers and support them as they undertake this good work.
A team of Vestry members and clergy consisting of Amber Evans, Colleen Smith, Liz Olson, and Craig DeBrine has completed the first round of interviews with four highly qualified and impressive interim priest candidates. results of those interviews will be presented to the Vestry this week. Of the four interviewees, we expect to select two candidates who will then meet with the entire Vestry sometime during the week of April 27.
The Vestry would like to express our gratitude for the love and encouragement the congregation has shown during this time of transition and renewed growth. Our task is made easier by your continued help and participation.
IHN IS HERE
IHN guests will be at Epiphany this week, April 27 - May 4.
This is a great opportunity for us to give back to our community and help
others who are temporarily without a home. Hosts are still needed for evenings
during the week. Please email or call Rebecca Bates (650) 593-5399

Upcoming Events
Blood Drive in May
Give the gift of life. Epiphany will be hosting a blood drive in the
parish hall on Sunday, May 4 from 11
am to 3 pm.
Make a difference by giving a pint of blood—come by or reserve a time
slot. Bring a friend. You’ll help the Blood Centers of the Pacific save
lives.
Some facts:
· A pint of blood, separated into components, can help up to three people.
· More than 4.5 million patients need blood transfusions each year in the U.S. and Canada.
· Only 37 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood—less than 10 percent do annually.
· The actual blood donation usually takes about 10 minutes. The entire process—from the time you sign in to the time you leave—takes about an hour.
Blood drives hosted by companies, schools, places of worship and civic organizations supply half of all blood donations across the United States. Sign up in the Parish Hall. Questions? Want to reserve a time? Contact Rev. Hailey McKeefry Delmas hai...@cyberdeacon.com (650) 596-5714.
Pot Luck for Seekers and Parents of seekers
— May 7, 6:30
pm in the Parish Hall.
Come and enjoy each other’s company and talk about possible mission trips
in the future. Should we go to El Salvador,
the Holy Land or continue with group work
camps?
Brunch Bunch on May Wednesday May 14.
In this crisp spring weather, come and warm up with fresh bread and a bowl of
homemade soup!
We'll be meeting directly after the midweek Eucharist at 11 a.m.
Bring dessert or salad to share...bring a friend...or just bring yourself. Need
more information?

CONFIRMITZVAH
— You’re Invited.
It's A Rite of Passage Service at 7
pm Friday, May 16, 2008 at Epiphany, followed by a reception in the Parish
Hall. This is Epiphany's first Confirmitzvah, and we hope the community will
show up in force to celebrate the commitment to study, prayer and spiritual
reflection made by the youth in the last year. At the service, youth will
receive stoles as a sign of their readiness to interpret the scriptures and
traditions of Christianity as members of the priesthood of all believers. The stoles,
beautifully made by Mary Wagner, are displayed in the parish hall today so that
you can sign them during coffee hour. Please sign each one with a message of
your support and respect for the commitment our youth have made.

MEMORIAL PIANO
The Vestry members along with Cortlandt Bender, Minister of
Music, are pleased to announce the purchase of the Kent Nowels Memorial Piano. This instrument, a 1927 Steinway
Model A, is made possible by a generous gift to the congregation from Kent’s
estate. Its quality is unsurpassed in instruments of its size. This piano will
replace the one on loan from the Nowels Family. A story about our new
instrument will appear in the May Beacon.
This historic piano will serve the congregation well for years and years.
