Because we have this capability, I'm going to post our conversations
in here as a means of logging everything we say. Easy was to look back
at objectives and look for things we may have missed in the meetings.




1st Meeting 6/25/10

Thomas: the founding members
Monica: oh yes oh yes
me: i love it.. ahhaha
Thomas: so we were discussing strategy
Monica: lol
ok strategy.. hit me
8:23 PM Thomas: we're going to put this together like we're
approaching potential invewstors (which we would need to do for
startup capital anyway) and put together a vision statement with
competitive advantages and develop a business plan for a non-profit
religious startup
Monica: sounds good....
Thomas: we'll need to make assumptions for membership to prject
revenues from donations. need some demographics from the location like
median income
8:24 PM we are pretty much stuck with donations as a main source of
ongoing funding
Monica: i agree with the donations being our primary source

me: yes
8:26 PM Thomas: yes. it's god stuff. it's a basis for the market we're
entering. so, alizar is going to write up the vision, i'm going to put
together a skeleton bus plan and you should gather the demgraphics,
like median income and see if there are statistics on religious
affiliations
me: i will produce a mission and vision statement...a rough version
will be available tomorrow morning

sound start at this thing
me: its a good starting point
Monica: ohhh i semi- wrote one
me: thats fine..
Monica: dont know if u guys would want to read it
me: we will all be working together as well as separately on most of
these tasks

Thomas: you guys should share on that and we can come up with a good
mission
me: i would like to read it...it gives me a good idea of how ive
conveyed my idea
and will help me mold an overall statement
8:29 PM Thomas: alizar you are our guru. and monica your email
mentioned some marketing ideas. you'll continue working on that?
me: yes monica...the website idea is awesome...100% necessary
8:30 PM Monica: yep i will
Thomas: i'm gonna start a bus plan and financials
8:31 PM me: this is a good start...and a pretty efficient meeting if i
do say so
that being said... i dont want to take on too much just yet
Monica: i'm looking into the website deal cuz that can be costly but
if i can link it to a page belonging to my job tepoarily just to get
the presentaton out the way then we can get it done for free
8:32 PM me: well....website is huge...but we cannot leave out
facebook, myspace, twitter...etc
Monica: but we shall see... its the closing of the month soooo its
like Xerox Hell right about now with final sales and promotions

ends..defining short term task taken from this meeting..
Thomas: i think we're on our way. we have clearly defined roles and
tasks. alizar can you also work on some of the legal aspect? it
crosses into my non-profit bus plan thing too
me: yes
8:34 PM Thomas: so alizar objectives for this week. 1 nail down an
advisor. monica we both like the guy teaching our current course. you
ok with that? we can nail him down tomorrow. he will most likely let
us run free
8:35 PM me: yes...lets get a top 3 going to we dont need to discuss
this any further...hopefully our current prof is down...but if he is
not lets get a few back ups
8:36 PM Thomas: 2 is the structure. i see it as an investor
presentation with a vision statement, statement of competitive
advantages, a bus plan, financial statements and a nice exploration of
our target market and marketing strategies
me: right... solid base to the project. we can always add to it

Thomas: good. 3rd objective was roles and responsibilities. i think
we have that. and alizar you said you're gonna send an email with that
Monica: hanson isnt bad at all
Vision:
Hope for our house of worship and community center to transform lives
in our community by establishing a spiritual basis in which a divine
eternal power can be pursued, restore the lives of those most needing
and wanting to suffice their spiritual necessities, provide a healing
power for those in need, and give motivation to fulfill the destinies
attached to every individual’s lives. In addition, we hope to
establish a non-demenational and liberal foundation for every one
thus, releasing the true power of spiritual well being.

help with the presentation angle?
me: monica that's beautiful... i will use much of that.

8:41 PM Thomas: i have no idea, although i have a staunch christian
whose brother in law started a congregation and i have discussed our
idea at length with him and got some god stuff. i'll continue to do
that. you guys should just keep talking to people
8:42 PM me: yes...ive am considering requesting..."cucumber".. as an
outside consultant...thought?
Thomas: i dont know who that is.and 5th objective was set up a
meeting time for next week. lets give each other some time to get our
tasks in order and keep the meetings high level like this one?
me: she seems well traveled and successful
Thomas: who is cucumber?

speaker
Thomas: oh i missed that. reach out to her if you think it can help
me: i got her email and told her i would contact her..but i have yet
to do so
Monica: cucumber??

me: lol...u didnt like her?
Monica: i sooooooooo agree
me: hahah ok
Monica: she was a good speaker and i think she will be superb

time lets continue to consider outside help incase she cannot
Thomas: ok see you guys tomorrow then? good work by all. i am
actually very happy about this. let them laugh at us if they want

8:47 PM Monica: Our Mission is exemplified in three ways:
Transformation through:
-providing a worship house that ushers the prophetic voices of all
community members
-prioritizing revelation of oneself and of our community
-pursuing authentic relationships within ourselves, our community, our
members, and our spiritual beings

Restoration through:
-using our house of worship and community center as a means of
deliverance
-a key to freedom from past negativities, hurt, pain, social damage,
wounds, and addictions
-renewing our minds, souls, and spiritual beings
-restoring hope amongst our members, our community, and ourselves
Equipping through:
-teaching the common sense truth through the development of a strong
humane character in every member and community participant
-emphasizing compassion, healthy lifestyles, inspirational leadership,
all gained through the members’ own spiritual personal growth and
accountability
-lastly, releasing into the world, spiritual restored and kind beings
to continue the growth of our safe haven and help others achieve their
spiritual peace
me: and lets just think about next week for meetings...we will decide
that tomorrow after class like we did last week

Monica: since i am in charge of operations i am goin to be creating
events and stuff that for a small fee (donation) we can get
participants to join

Thomas: it's all part of our marketing piece
Monica: marketing perspectives? online networking sites, local
directories, public locations, and newspaper ads
Thomas: twitter, facebook etc
Monica: kinda like an event calendar
me: yuuppp

her as a consultant and given enough notice her while provide

what drives people

me: i think she can help a lot with how we plan to operate

Thomas: did you guys read thru the templates i atached?
8:12 PM me: we def need to be very specific in our requests...
Monica: yea i keep getting feedback from certain community centers
i've visited and was told that our target is a lil blurry
me: yes, its quite lengthy
Monica: like what exactly is our direction?
Thomas: thats the vision. we need to get it down on paper and examine
our focus

susan would like me to send her pictures..so she can match names

8:16 PM yes the biz plan is long, but you do agree that it's the
structure we need right? we just have to go thru and fill in our
stuff.
me: yes absolutely
Thomas: and it makes you think about all aspects of our venture in
the right ways
me: that will definitely take a sit down or three though

sit down would be best. thursdays nights is best for me
me: yes...its going to make us address a lot of major issues that
need to be addressed
Thomas: good thing is once it's done it is our paper and pretty much
our presentation all in one

thursdays...is htat the only good night for u?
Monica: im good monday through thursday
Thomas: its the best but i can make do. i wake up at 5am mon thru
thurs so its tough to travel very far night before
