Itsuki became Reina's crush throughout the series since she first noticed him and performed Mune Kyun Taiken to express her love for him inspired by Aira.8 Reina also had the chance to dance with him 9 and although she wasn't able to find out about his family relation with Aira until Episode 22. She also attempted to confess to him in Episode 30, but failed. 10 It also may have occurred that Itsuki may like Reina too, by calling her by the term: Reina-chan and describing her as cute and amazing in more than one episode.

Rena possesses a signature "Kaaii Mōdo" (かぁいい モード) or "Cute Mode," a comic relief quirk which is instigated when she is embarrassed or when she finds something cute. Once she enters Kawaii Mode, Rena's senses are heightened to an extreme extent, making her inhumanly agile and vigorous. This causes frequent trouble for many of the club members, who have to expend all of their energy to barely control her; Keiichi and Mion have been knocked out cold a large number of times by Rena's flurries of punches, while Rika and Satoko have often been kidnapped when she progresses further to Take Home (お持ち帰りomochikaeri) Mode, especially when they wear cute club punishment outfits. Satoko and Rika have learned to use Rena's Kawaii Mode switch to their advantages. By either crying to her or posing in an adorable fashion, they can manipulate whom Rena knocks out or make Rena can support them, thus giving them a huge advantage in eliminating competition easily in club games.

During the second Wandenreich invasion, a resurrected Charlotte is brought out by Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi to fight against Sternritter "Z", Giselle Gewelle, and the Shinigami zombie army she has amassed.[19] Charlotte notices a wounded Yumichika lying nearby and states he forgot his name before proclaiming he cannot remember the names of ugly people.[20] When Mayuri delivers an electric shock to the brains of the other Arrancar for talking too much, Charlotte states he is different, prompting Mayuri to electrocute him as well. When Giselle asks Mayuri if he believes he can win with only four zombies, Charlotte and the other Arrancar angrily proclaim they will not lose to Shinigami before rushing forward.[21]
