Next Week Presentation:
Taras Luzhnyy, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy and Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He provides evidence-based musculoskeletal and neurologic rehabilitation with an emphasis on pain education, functional strength, balance training, and fall prevention. He also contributes to professional standards through ABPTS item writing. His background as a former elite athlete informs practical, progressive programming—helping patients improve confidence, mobility, and quality of life while avoiding unnecessary fear from “normal aging” findings on imaging.
Learning objectives By the end, participants will be able to:
Explain why pain does not always equal harm and why chronic pain behaves differently than acute pain.
Recognize common types of pain (nociceptive, neuropathic, and nociplastic) and what each implies for treatment.
Understand why imaging can look “bad” even when function is good, and how to interpret results in context.
Identify practical fall-risk factors and simple, high-yield prevention steps.
