Now through March 10th, registration is open for the Columbus High School Ultimate League 2014 season.

How do I go about helping a school get an "ultimate teaching kit?" It's an elementary school; the gym teacher wants to do a unit on Ultimate this spring. Can we help them get discs for free?

There are a couple options.  The simplest would be to go through USAU.  They have a teaching kit for sale here:

If CUDA is willing, it would be nice if they paid for the kit.  Here in Cincy, we have a goal of getting a set of discs and a PE curriculum into every school.  The downside of the USAU curriculum is that it tends to be rather involved.  While it would be nice for an instructor to do 3 weeks on Ultimate, I think it is rather unrealistic to expect many instructors to do that....at least initially.  If you are interested, I have an abbreviated curriculum (4 lessons) that covers the bare basics as an introduction to the sport and would be happy to share that. 

If you guys are looking to get into elementary schools (which I think would be fantastic and the best possible way to get more kids playing), then you may want to try to develop an outlet for these kids, newly introduced to the sport, to play.  Small league, pick-up ....something.  We have a small league here in Cincy for kids age 8-12.  It is coached by players on one of the high school teams (might qualify for community service hours for the high school players) and is half instructional and half recreational.  The point is, it is one thing to introduce the sport to kids, but we would like to be able to keep them playing and get them hooked.
