Hi, everyone.

Here are a few very important updates for the 2014 CHSUL season.

First, I found out over the weekend that Gahanna will not be participating in the league this season. All games against Gahanna are now canceled.

Second, here are the home dates and locations for games this week. I hope to have the full schedule (including game locations) on the website this week. Sorry for the delay.

Following each game, I need each coach to email me final game AND spirit scores. It is very important that I receive both the game score and the spirit score for the opposing team. We are following the USAU spirit score rubric, which can be found at the bottom of this webpage.

Makeup games are handled between team coaches and captains. Please keep me in the loop for rescheduled games. If a date cannot be agreed upon, I will set a date.

Game format is the same as last season:

• Current USAU rules will apply to all regular season games unless noted otherwise.

• These rules can be found here.

• Soft cap will come in at 90 minutes (and take effect after the completion of the current point).

• Hard cap will come in at 105 minutes.

• Teams will receive 2 timeouts per half.

• Teams on offense determine the gender ratio for that point.

• Teams on defense are required to match 1 female player but are not required to match more.

• If the team on defense cannot match 1 female player, that team can only play with 6 players for that point.

• Teams are prohibited from playing a “Zone” defense in any game prior to April 1st.

• Any element of game format (including gender ratio, zone, game length, etc.) may be changed/altered for a specific game provided both head coaches agree to the changes.

• Any such changes need to be decided on and agreed upon before the start of the game.

Lastly, registration is now $60. Players must be registered to play in games. I will be ordering discs this week that will distributed at the city tournament to each registered player. The amount of discs I order is based off of the amount of players registered.
