suddenly, weeks ago, the icon pictures from the bookmarks bar
disapeared - do someone know what caused this?

I don't know what caused it but I do know that it's happened to me a
few times actually, and that the icons come back after a while. Maybe
from revisiting the bookmarks, maybe from using the Sync feature. I'm
not sure.
