Digicheck is the only RME software that you can use without hardware.
But only on windows computer, no macs, and you must use an ASIO driver.
The problem is, Digicheck uses audio input channels.
And your software plays sound that goes only to output channels.
you need an aditional software that gives you a Loopback function for routing the output channel into an input channel.

Is there any way of getting drivers for this RME sound card (Digi 96 PAD 8)......and to work with windows 7....I'm pretty desp, I need to be working on techno tunes for release !! not going bonkers !!...........Please don't tell me there's no support or I'll Cry or Turn to the dark side and get a lynx or smash something......hehe.......Just a joke,
No money for a new sound card !!
Any Dodgy Suggestions welcome too :-) !
Help needed Guys N Girls !!

Tl;dr: Reaper is running on windows, the soundcraft mtk12 is my soundcard/interface/mixer, which works well for me all other times. Digitakt is controlling digitone and both show a connection in Overbridge control panel, but I have no sound output. Reaper makes me select digitone as the soundcard in order to get the input from the digis, but then I have no sound.

I use my soundcard asio driver. When I put digitakt vst, reaper asks me if I want to make the aux send connections, so I say yes. I can now record digitakt, even if the start of the pattern sounds glitchy.

Sib. 7.1: ASIO4ALL Driver
Posted by barb4543 - 16 Mar 03:10AM Hide picture Avid recommends the ASIO4All Driver as good low latency driver. Cannot get it to work in Sibelius 7. It shows up as available in the Audio Engine Options window, but cannot get any sound. Anybody had this problem ? How did you resolve ? I'm running Win 7 Prof. 32 bit. DAW is DIGI 003 with PT-9.0.6 Back to top Allthreads Re: Sib. 7.1: ASIO4ALL Driver
Posted by Laurence Payne - 16 Mar 03:19AM Hide picture In Audio Engine Options there will be a choice of outputs - 1/2, 3/4, maybe 5/6. Try them all.

ALso, make sure there is no other audio application running as well as Sibelius that might have grabbed the ASIO4ALL device for itself! Back to top Allthreads Re: Sib. 7.1: ASIO4ALL Driver
Posted by Andy G - 16 Mar 07:18AM Hide picture ASIO4ALL is not a driver, it's a 'wrapper' for non-ASIO capable systems. Why are you trying to use ASIO4ALL when the Digi has its own proper ASIO drivers?

Posted by Laurence Payne - 16 Mar 10:31AM Hide picture Very good point! ASIO4ALL is better than no ASIO driver (the situation with a computer's on-board sound chip) but no competition for a quality soundcard with it's own driver. Back to top Allthreads Re: Sib. 7.1: ASIO4ALL Driver
Posted by Robin Walker - 16 Mar 11:04AM Hide picture ASIO4ALL will go silent without any diagnostic if it is unable to use the output device selected within the ASIO4ALL setup panel.

So the first thing to do is open ASIO4ALL setup, and configure it to use the physical output devices that you wish it to use, in the advanced settings.

ASIO4ALL will fail silently if the selected output device is in use by any other audio application.

Any adjustments you make to ASIO4ALL settings will not take effect within Sibelius until the next time that Sibelius initialises the audio output engine: one way of forcing this is to quit and re-launch Sibelius. Another way is to change Sibelius's Audio Engine Options to a non-ASIO selection, and then change them back to ASIO4ALL.

Posted by barb4543 - 17 Mar 05:39PM Hide picture To all that replied to use the 003 ASIO, I understand that the 003 has its own ASIO driver. Reason I'm looking for an alternate ASIO to use in SIB is to be able to add lyrics and some arranging tweaks to a PT Score Editor file I've sent to SIB while having PT open also so I can listen/refer back to instrumentals in the PT file. You can't do this if the 2 are re-wired - - you can only listen to the complete audio, not the separate vocals in SIB and the instrumentals in PT.

Whenever PT is open it grabs the 003 ASIO and I'm left with only some poor high latency driver choices in SIB that makes arranging a real challenge. Back to top Allthreads Re: Sib. 7.1: ASIO4ALL Driver
Posted by Robin Walker - 17 Mar 07:00PM Hide picture You cannot do that. ASIO4ALL demands that it has exclusive use of the chosen output device, which it cannot get if you have the same output device open in PT.

Posted by barb4543 - 20 Mar 01:38AM Hide picture So I'm stuck with a high latency condition when note inputing/arranging vocals in a score in SIB with PT open for reference to instrumentals ? Drives me crazy ! The alternative of closing/re-opening PT is not workable - - PT-9 with Complete Production Toolkit is such a slow opener that the arranging thought train is long gone. Posted by Daniel Spreadbury - 20 Mar 09:11AM Hide picture Unfortunately you would need a device with multi-client ASIO support in order to have low-latency playback in both Sibelius and Pro Tools simultaneously.

Besides W7 32 bit, what are the rest of your computer specs? There is more to good playback than latency.

I got digi 001 running on windows 7...
i left my xp on hard disk while installing win 7. it kept xp on folder windows.old folder. in control panel i saw digi as multimedia adapter wich system couldn't recognice. hit "change settings" -> driver -> update driver
used my old windows to search for driver. it found "Dalvin.sys" driver for adapter. installed that. after that windows recogniced digi 001.
downloaded "digidesign asio 6.11" driver installer for win-xp and ran it.
and bingo - it works!
in every step windows was complaining and asking do i want to do this. just yeah'd everything. as i just had a clean install of win 7 i just thought whatta heck i can install everything again if it would not work, but it did.

so in a nut shell:
1: install Dalvin.sys in control panel for digi 001
2: run digidesign asio 6.11 driver installer for win-xp

for me it worked but i absolutely take no responsibility if you mess your system with this! at least reaper got a sound out of it. i haven't tried to record anything yet. but asio settings seemed to work as they used to do in xp.
