How far FORWARD compatible latest version of chrome driver is?

Hello, I'm using chrome driver for my excel vba file. Giving that file to my coworkers who really don't have computer knowledge let alone selenium basic chrome drivers etc...

For that reason I'd need to avoid updating my chrome driver unless it crashes or gives me error messages.

So since chrome get updated very frequently I'd need to update my driver according to browser version.

But how far forward versions can it support?

I assume if version difference is minor you don't have to worry about crashing or error messages?

For example if I installed 114.0.5735.16, I think I don't have to install 114.0.5735.90 since it will work without crashing.

But what if it was like this? 114.0.5635.XX vs 114.5735.XX

Security consern aside would it still work without crashing?

Or what if 114.0.XXXX.XX vs 114.3.XXXX.XX or something (I know 114.3.XXXX.XX version doesn't exist, I'm asking for the sake of general usage)

“Each version of ChromeDriver supports Chrome with matching major, minor, and build version numbers. For example, ChromeDriver 73.0.3683.20 supports all Chrome versions that start with 73.0.3683.”
