I'm having difficulty getting ChromeDriver to emit it's log file on Windows. I've spent quite a few hours banging my head against a wall, assuming that I was somehow screwing up the simple --log-path option. Then I found this recently-closed issue:

https://code.google.com/p/chromedriver/issues/detail?id=625

I was very excited :) and I upgraded ChromeDriver from 2.6 to 2.7 immediately. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped. However, when I downgrade to 2.4, my logs appear. So unless there's been an API change related to this, I think my code is correct.

Specifically, Our code is starting CD with this:
"(path_to_chromedriver)\chromedriver.exe" --port=35192 --log-path=(path_to_logfile)\chromedriver.log

The log file is created, but has zero bytes :(

I've experienced exactly the same problem on Win2003 Server and Win7, both 64-bit platforms.

Any ideas? Should I open a new issue on this?

TIA!
Chris

Hi Chris,

Many thanks for the information.
I reopened bug 625 you mentioned.
You may keep a track on the bug.

Thanks,
