When exactly will 91.0.4472.101 be available for download? Most recent displayed as of 6/17 is 91.0.4472.19.

Also Chrome browser is already at 91.0.4472.106 (on my machine at least) which would not be supported by latest ChromeDriver. At what point will Google release a corresponding version of ChromeDriver when releasing updates to Chrome browser? It seems like ChromeDriver is toast with every Chrome release.

Thank you,
Beth

The previous email had a wrong link to the ChromeDriver Downloads site. The correct link is https://chromedriver.chromium.org/downloads, where you can find links to the new releases. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Beth,

ChromeDriver 91.0.4472.101 was released a few days ago, though it looks like we put an old download link in the announcement. (The ChromeDriver web site was recently migrated to a new location.) The correct downloads page is at https://chromedriver.chromium.org/downloads, and you can go directly to version 91.0.4472.101 as well.

There is no plan to release version 91.0.4472.106 of ChromeDriver, as ChromeDriver version 91.0.4472.101 works well with Chrome version 91.0.4472.106. In general, ChromeDriver releases happen less frequently than Chrome releases. Please see https://chromedriver.chromium.org/downloads/version-selection on how to select the ChromeDriver version based on your Chrome version.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

I'm not sure what the problem is, but I just downloaded chromedriver 92.0.4515.43 to work with chrome browser version "Version 92.0.4515.107 (Official Build) " that my chrome updated too and I've got what appears to be some compatibility issue; "This version of ChromeDriver only supports Chrome version 90 Current browser version is 92.0.4515.107". Any idea what the cause of this is from or am I missing something with this latest chromedriver?

Thanks!
Mike

Hi Mike,

That message means you're running ChromeDriver version 90. Please double check that you've downloaded the right version, and your script is starting ChromeDriver from the correct location.

Thanks John for the swift reply!

Right, that would make sense for sure, but I definitely verified I grabbed and added from the link I supplied https://chromedriver.storage.googleapis.com/index.html?path=92.0.4515.43/ which is suppose to be version 92.0.4515.43 but maybe the binary is actually 90?

Thanks!

Just tried this myself (Linux) and got the expected 92.x variant.

I also double checked that the right version is on our download site.

I've checked the version of all 4 zip files at https://chromedriver.storage.googleapis.com/index.html?path=92.0.4515.43/, including the one for Windows. I'd suggest using full path to start ChromeDriver, instead of relying on PATH or some other mechanism. You can also double click on your chromedriver.exe to verify its version.

Ok, thank for verifying John!

This just started happening for me with 92, so not sure what the problem is. I had 91 driver and version prior without issues. Could there be another source of the problem, like the usage of options and how desired_capabilities is loading those - like any changes?

Thanks!

Hi John,

So I did a little more digging myself and I found (maybe expected idk) that the build date or Modified date within the zip for windows has a later date 6/8/21 for version 91.0.4472.101  than that of 92.0.4515.43 6/3/21. I find it odd that a later date would be for an earlier release, but again maybe that is some sort of release convention you guys have.

Also, could someone do maybe a validation check against my findings with selenium having chrome version 92.0.4515.107 and chrome driver version  92.0.4515.43 and see if you get a;

selenium.common.exceptions.SessionNotCreatedException: Message: session not created: This version of ChromeDriver only supports Chrome version 90
Current browser version is 92.0.4515.107 with binary path C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe

output?

Thanks!

Maksim,

Is the 92.x Chromedriver GA yet? It's still listed as Beta. Trying to understand the GA blockers at this point. Thanks.

Update: Hand to Face moment...I really feel stupid right now, but it's the result of over-load yesterday! I had so many moving parts yesterday; GO GO GO that I did not slow down to take in the view of what was really my problem. I replaced the chromedriver in my path but I was still using in my "venv" the previous version and not the updated version. Again...hand to face moment and I'm sorry if I wasted anyone's time. Goes to show....slowing down and getting a good can prevent so much wasted time. Thanks for the great comms!

Thanks!
Mike

+1 for Joe's comment.  As of 7/20/21 Chrome version, 92.0.4515.107, is live on the Stable channel. I'm running that version on my Intel-based Mac. However, the chromedriver for the Stable Channel is still at 91.0.4472.101.

Does anyone know when this will be updated?

Thanks,

John

ChromeDriver follows the Chrome release schedule. 92 is now indeed stable, and the website has been updated with a small delay.

We’ll cut a new 93 beta release tomorrow.

Chrome 93 is released and uploaded. Version 92 is marked as stable. Thanks for reminding!

Requesting current version gives chrome 93 (https://chromedriver.storage.googleapis.com/LATEST_RELEASE), but stable is 92. Can you correct this?

Thanks!

Action required - That's a bug! The LATEST_RELEASE is incorrectly set to v93 when it should be v92.

We've got selenium-standalone configured to use the "latest" ChromeDriver in our deployment pipeline which does not support Chrome 92 and fails. 💣

Done. Now `LATEST_RELEASE` points to the latest STABLE version `92.0.4515.107`.
