unicode(russian) characters not displayed

Hi guys,

I noted a problem while using unicode ( in my case russian characters) !

Basically, I just do this : webObject.sendKeys("й ц у к е н Ф Ы В А П Р Л Д Ж й ц у к е н Ф Ы В А П Р Л Д Ж й ц у к е н Ф Ы В А П Р Л Д Ж") but the text inserted in the textbox is "ц у к е н Ф Ы Ð’ РП РЛ Д Ж й ц у к е н Ф Ы Ð’ РП РЛ Д Ж й ц у к е н Ф Ы Ð’ РП РЛ Д Ð".

It happens in CHROME ( looks fine in firefox)

I have a grid environment ( selenium-server-standalone-2.35.0) .

Any idea or suggestion?

Hi,

I have same problem with Japanese characters.
It seems WebElement#sendKeys method can't handle unicode characters properly.
It happens on Chrome 30.0.1599.66 and doesn't happen on older Chrome like 29.
