Hello ChromeDriver users,

We are happy to announce that ChromeDriver versions 81.0.4044.138 and 83.0.4103.39 have been released, and are now available at the ChromeDriver Downloads site. Both versions fix some regressions that have been discovered in previous versions, in particular, to allow ChromeDriver to work properly with some JavaScript frameworks such as prototype.js.

Thanks for your continued support of ChromeDriver, and please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

ChromeDriver Team

I have double checked that we have the right version on ChromeDriver download site. Please verify the following:
  • You are downloading from official ChromeDriver site, https://chromedriver.storage.googleapis.com/index.html?path=81.0.4044.138/.
  • After downloading, you used the zip file that has just been downloaded, instead of an older one that might still be in the download folder.
  • You are running the binary that has just been downloaded. You might have an older copy of ChromeDriver elsewhere in the PATH.

HI All,

Thanks for the update. Is there anyway to auto-update the chrome driver as per latest release of chrome version. Its a big headache to do it manually.

Thanks,
Ankit
