Hi,

Since the new version of Silverbird was released I'm getting massive memory leak.

If I look at my Task Manager after a few hrs I see it's approaching

400,000k!

Screenshot

I have 4 tabs in Silverbird.

Unified Tab
My @username Tab
One List Tab
and one Search tab

Similar behaviour here: 247.000K for silverbird.

See attached screenshot. On Chromium 18.0.1025.39.

Hi Cezar,

Were you able to find the cause of this?

I've had to uninstall as it was killing my system.

Not really sure yet, it doesn't seem related to the last changes but I can be wrong. I'm cleaning up a little bit and removing some persistence references.
I'll let you know latter today when I upload a new version with a possible fix so you can give it a try.

I've just pushed version 1.9.8.7 to the webstore with some changes I hope can solve the leakage. The problem is that I was not able to reliably reproduce the leaks so I'm not sure.
Would you guys give it a try and check if its memory footprint doesn't skyrocket again?

Been running for 15 mins and it seems like you fixed it.

Normally after 15 mins it would be up over 150k. Currently it's sat at 35k

After half an hour, the memory usage is in 47MB now.

Good work Cezar.

Been up for around 3hrs and it's sitting at 100k. Before 3hrs would have been over 500k :)

I'm not used to the chrome API for extensions, and I am happy to see
that after three hours here, the memory consumption is at 109.000 K, a
5-fold decrease form yesterday's 550.000K, but it still intrigues me
that a browser extension takes "109.000K" of memory, which I read as
109 thousand Kilobytes or a bit over 100MB.

Am I reading this right? With plugins like Flash using ca. 90MB and
Gmail's tab chomping over 200MB, I don't really know if I'm getting
the units right.

I think I spoke too soon.

It's now up over 390K

Same here. 330.000K

Oh well... That's really weird, I'm quite sure it's related somehow to Chrome versions, I'll try a few more tweaks today. Let you know soon.

I've just uploaded 1.9.8.8 to the webstore, what a nasty little bug. I'm almost certain I nailed it now. We'll know for sure in a few hours, now I need to sleep.

Been running now for nearly an hour and it's stayed at around 24k.

Great stuff.
