Hello everyone, having trouble setting up chrome OS as OPAC in our library. Got a chrome test box and trying to run in KIOSK mode so we can run OPAC machines but ran into many issues.

Do you have to create private kiosk app in order to run kisok mode?  (I know there are paid version out there but we just want to test)
where to enable kiosk mode? is it under app and extension > KIOSK? or under setting > user and browser settings > device settings and > managed guest session?

have a test box but it is stuck application initializing error

please advice. thank you.

Do you have a Google Admin account and did you buy a Chrome Management license?
This is the only way that I have done OPACs, I did not think you could do it with just a Chromebox and the browser settings.
I could be wrong.  But I am not sure what the image you included is showing.

I went and looked at our settings.  The screenshot you shared is for a settings page I have never used, all our stuff has been working so I have not had to re-visit these pages since Google updated them all.
My settings look the same.  Under the Managed Guest Sessions tab, I have Kiosk set as Force Install and all other settings are default for my org.  Under Users & Browsers I have Kiosk set as Allow Install.  We never turn off the OPAC chromeboxes, we just turn off the monitors at night.  I honestly can't remember if we paid for Kiosk or not.  I do have a sheet where we had to log into the Admin side of the Kiosk app and set the URL and the refresh rate and reboot time.  But an app initializing error sounds to me like a setting gone wrong, it is just so hard to find which one it is.  Sorry I couldn't help more.
