I'm looking at these two devices for use as catalog stations, and having a hard time choosing. Anyone have opinions?

Right now the differentiator may be that I can't find a reasonable mounting bracket for the Lenovo. The Asus has a standard VESA mounting pattern, while I don't recognize the Lenovo's two-hole pattern.

The Asus has a faster, newer processor and I think is the better option with your vesa mount requirement. Also a kensington slot if you ever need.

We are looking at the Lenovo for all things catalog and signage (any low-resource application). It is small and light enough to just velcro to the back of whatever screen you use and tucks away nicely for touchscreen stations and TVs. Great replacement for the old Chromebits as it is fanless and ventless so it can just be tossed behind a monitor and you can forget about it for the next 7-10 years.

Daniel, they are super handy but I worry about patrons walking off with them.

My 2 Cents (for what it is worth)...

We have seen a lot of failing ACER Chromeboxes at some of our Libraries, they were all replaced by Lenovo Chromeboxes, have not seen any issues with the Lenovo. No data to report on ASUS quality.
